Cain to Letterman: ‘All of these women are lying'

Letterman sitting in judgement of Cain?? Does anyone else see how bizarre that is? Letterman is a well known old perv. Look at his sordid past. Oh well,i guess most Americans only see what they want to see. Letterman is the last dude who should be sitting there judging Cain.

Letterman came forward and admitted his indiscretions and he's not looking to be president.

Cain is a liar.

No Letterman was forced to come forward. He had no choice. He has been proven to be an old pervert. This hasn't been proven with Cain. Maybe it will later, but it hasn't yet. Either way,Letterman sitting in judgment of anyone on this issue is just plain ludicrous.

Cain is a liar.

Paulitician already rebutted that baseless commentary, so this is just a pile on, I guess.

But, really, Sarah. Shame on you.

When and if the first person ever verifies any of the allegations against Mr. Cain, you might at long last have your FIRST genuine basis to say such crap about him.

But so far, nobody has verified ANY of the rancid character assassination smear campaign claims against the man.

You have EXACTLY zero evidence that Mr. Cain lied. And because you dislike his politics, you are perfectly "ok" with presuming guilt.

"Liberal" used to mean something a little loftier on such matters.

No. They don't. You are flatly wrong.

And even if they did, the Association could not "imply" guilt for Mr. Cain who was NOT a party to the settlements.

But other than being entirely wrong, that was a really good post you just offered.

:doubt:

Why would you settle if nothing wrong was done? It looks as if you are guilty.

TRY to follow along, this time.

Mr. Cain did not settle anything.

The Restaurant Association did.

And you are wrong, anyway. Lots of folks settle bullshit claims for the simple reason that it is more cost effective. It's a bean-counter thang.

I know of one case where a fucking scumbag child sexual predator piece of shit (convicted of the crime) then found it expedient to sue the city, the police, the prosecutors, etc., on the basis of some alleged violations of his Constitutional rights. The City settled the whole thing with that scumbag piece of garbage for like 25 or 30 thousand fucking bucks BECAUSE it was cheaper to do that than to pay for just the transcription fees that litigation would have required. They didn't settle because of any actual merit in the bastard's claims. They settled as a cost-efficient alternative to fighting it out in Court -- where even winning would have cost them more money than they paid the bastard by settling.

If the restaurant association settled, they are making him look guilty. The city was made to look guilty by a sexual predator. You do not know that this is the actual reason that the restaurant association settled.

You just can't arbitrarily not believe these harassment charges simply because Cain seems like a nice guy. Historically, women have been victimized by men and when they have charged harassment, they were the ones who were attacked.

Several women have come forward and he hasn't been accountable at all. He just says oh well, they are all lying. Please.

NEW YORK — Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain says "all of these women are lying" about unwanted sexual advances.

In appearance on David Letterman’s "Late Show" airing Friday night, the former pizza executive is again denying any impropriety during his time running the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s

:eusa_hand:

The one who stepped up to be named and counted seems to have no credibility.

The other three are anonymous. Prior "suits" or threatened lawsuits, even when coupled with "settlements" from the Association do not establish that they were being honest.

Thus, it is quite possible that Mr. Cain is telling the truth. It is entirely possible that each one of them IS lying.

One may doubt Mr. Cain for ANY reason. But there's still no credible evidence that he ever engaged in ANY sexual harassment.

But we HAVE learned one thing. An orchestrated smear campaign can still work.

I consider that pretty bad news.

Settlements imply guilt.
No settlements don't.

People with an axe to grind see a former employer as an easy buck, and use their employment as a background for lying to collect government unemployment by saying they worked 6 months instead of 1 day; were shorted on overtime, when actually, the employer had to remind them to stop hanging around the coffeeshop after work and go home on a routine basis, etc., ad nauseum.

They will go after an employer if they are jealous someone else got the promotion, even if they were blatantly unqualified to do the job; and they will go after an employer if another employee lies about the employer, including con artists and embezzlers against the employer or the business.

If the employer of hundreds of people has to go to court every time someone lies about him, he would have to close his business doors and sell the business just to pay his legal fees against claims and lawsuits that would cost thousands of dollars to prove the employee's motives, many of which are union omertas.

Sexual harassment is particularly difficult. 5 claims will deep-six a Republican and add 4 states to a Democrat when papers demonize the Republican, saying he regularly engages in "improprieties," but lionize the Democrat by calling him "charismatic."

Politics are getting so out-of-control and dirty against businesses, that in order to get anything done, government will have to be disolved and issues resolved by selected committees diplomatically handled by cruel crime families who will become so powerful and wealthy, their subjects, too, you might as well get ready for the cruel monarchy with such harsh measures you would have to create its own church and purge it of all challengers who become known to the masses of peons such a government will create as to call them "martyrs".

All this lying for money, wealth, and fame will destroy the founders America if it is allowed to continue fomenting.

Who profits if disorder and chaos happens? Think about it, and trust me, it's nobody on these shores, still thought of as rightful possessions by some.

I suspect we'll never know who is lying but no matter, the desired damage is done and Democrats can rejoice..fairly or unfairly..

Why would Democrats rejoice? As a potential presidential candidate, Herman Cain would be - to use boxing parlance - a tomato can.

Cain getting knocked out of the race just makes the way easier for Mitt Romney, who happens to be the only potential legitimate competition to Obama in the field.

They think we fear their candidates. :eusa_eh:
Hopefully, the Republicans could run a yellow dog and beat the dog in the White House. Hopefully, there are enough people to say, "Anybody BUT Obama!"

We will suffer greatly under another four years of his Marxist policies.

I would agree, but three points.

First is, Cain inflicted a lot of that damage on himself. He might not have done anything wrong, but he acted like a guy with something to hide, from changing his story to retaining a lawyer.

Compare that to how Newt has handled the Freddie thing. He's made all the records public about the work he did for them almost immediately after it became a question.

Second, assuming these women really didn't come forward on their own, and this is a plot, I think it is more likely to have come from Cain's rivals than Obama. There's no benefit for Obama springing this now. More likely, it was Perry or Romney.

Third point- Cain never should have gotten this far, and it speaks volumes to the problems the modern GOP has in inspiring people. His verbal gaffes, his outlandish views, his lack of knowledge about even basic things, like not knowing China was a nuclear power or that federal workers can't collectively bargain.

But you have a GOP establishment that is insisting on nominating a guy who is out of tune with the GOP electorate and no one seems able to sustain a real challenge to him. We'll see if Newt does.

DES MOINES, Iowa — A conservative Iowa radio host, who on Wednesday became the latest person to accuse Herman Cain of acting inappropriately toward women, declined to offer specifics about the presidential candidate’s behavior but suggested that Cain was “compromised in his private life.”

Steve Deace, who hosts a syndicated two-hour radio program in Iowa, said that two of his female staff members were subjected to “inappropriate and awkward” comments by Cain. But he refused to identify them or elaborate on the seriousness of the allegations.

After his show on Wednesday night, Deace held an impromptu press conference outside his Des Moines studio while his two female staff members rushed out of the building, escorted by two men who attempted to keep reporters away.

One of the women was identified to ABC News by an independent source as a victim of the behavior Deace mentioned. Both of the women repeatedly refused to comment on anything related to the controversy.

Deace, an influential conservative figure in the state, declined to say whether he had the women’s consent before going public with the allegations, but added, “As a staff we are very tight and we are very close and we share everything with one another.”
