"They fuck you at the drive through..." This famous wisdom uttered by Leo Getz in Lethal Weapon 2 is so fitting to run through my mind reading this story.

Internet sales tax: Online retailers to start collecting sales taxes in California - latimes.com

The state of california has decided to circumvent a 1992 supreme court ruling prohibiting them collecting taxes from online retailers that do not maintain a physical presence in state. Yeah, well, when you're a spending addict, you have lots of ways and schemes to keep up your addiction.

So we can fully expect to see a mass exodus of business out of california, and probably a stoppage of selling by outfits like Amazon INTO California. I can also bet that you will see a boom of 'mailbox services' at the boarder who will repackage and ship into the state for a small fee to dodge tax law.

Good job CA! Way to fuck yourself at the drive through!

Amazon will have to surrender on the issue of no sales taxes on internet sales if it is California. They have more to loose than California.

And Amazon's bullying hasn't worked. All they have done is given up sales. They have lost.
