The second the states got that stimulus money the democrats threw the money at union employees - the labor unions saw the states get a fat check from uncle sam via the taxpayers and they wanted MORE FUCKING MONEY... Of course democrats were thrilled to give them all raises and bailout their pensions - because unions are the democrat voting base....

That's why the stimulus created so few jobs - because the money was spent giving raises to those already employed.... The jobs that were created come out to about $250,000 a pop.... Math and numbers don't lie....

One of the latest examples comes from the California coastal city of Hermosa Beach, where some community service staffers who collect money from parking meters and manage their operations – positions once widely known as “meter maids” – are making nearly $100,000 a year in total compensation, according to city documents.

There are 10 parking enforcement employees for the 1.3-square-mile beach city southwest of downtown Los Angeles, and they pull down some disproportionate compensation, considering their job functions. In fact, the two highest-earning employees for fiscal year 2011-12 are estimated to have made more than $92,000 and $93,000, respectively, according to city documents provided by Patrick “Kit” Bobko, one of five council members and who also serves as mayor pro tem. Those two have supervisory roles. The other eight parking-enforcement employees make from $67,367 to $84,267 in total compensation.

Please don't use Hermosa Beach. It's like using Malibu or Beverly Hills. It's not an example. Someone who makes $100,000 a year in Hermosa Beach is well below the mean poverty line for the area. Likely someone making only $100,000 a year can't live there, they live in Gardena or Torrance.

The only people who think the poor live in Hermosa Beach live next door in Manhattan Beach who are even richer than the poor in Hermosa Beach. Much like the people who live in Bel Aire have pity on the poor who live in Holmby Hills. Or the low rent district of Brentwood.

Not to mention that a Hermosa Beach resident can buy a permit and park anywhere free. The meters are for "tourists" from Inglewood! A meter maid will literally stand at a parking meter waiting for it to get out of time to write the ticket. Stand there and wait.
