The mudslides have started. @ one million retirees are expected to head someplace else where housing is cheaper due:

To a lack of temporary housing

A year's wait for building permits to replace destroyed housing.

And selling to get the one time capital gains tax break.

This approximately $600B hit will be compounded by:

Losing employers.

Premium and deductible increases for insurance; life, auto, real estate and inventory losses are likely to be stunning.

Higher taxes and fees.

Call it one trillion for this year's fires.

The mudslide season could well be more damaging than the record fire season according to weather reports. This is because El Nino is creating an off shore low pressure zone to attract rain storms.

While damage should be less than $10T it might not be by much.
 
California needs to place Moonbeams bullet train to nowhere on hold....
