California Governor Jerry Brown on Saturday finished signing the California Dream Act, under which California students who are undocumented [ illegal ] immigrants will qualify for state-funded financial aid for college. [didn't know CA had any money ]

The controversial bill is the highest-profile act to expand undocumented [illegal] students' access to higher education after a federal Dream Act, which would have given undocumented [illegal ]students a path to short-term permanent residency status, failed last year to attract enough support in Congress.

And once again:

Dream Act-type legislation conforms to Constitutional case law with regard to undocumented aliens’ due process rights and the prohibition of punishing children for their parents’ bad acts.

It’s an intelligent and pragmatic measure as many students came to the US legally as small children.

These students aren’t going to be deported, as the US is the only country they’ve known.

And leaving them uneducated will only cause greater problems in the future.

Lastly, we see the hypocrisy of conservatives: it seems in this case California doesn’t have the ‘state right’ to do as it sees fit with its own residents.

Actually, THIS is what causes greater problems. It might not be their fault that their parents brought them here illegally. But it's certainly not my fault either. Why should I pay taxes for the government to give more to illegal immigrants than it will give me?
