C,mon, fess up, are you regretting your vote?

I didn't vote for Barack Obama--but must admit I do have family & friends that did vote for him. Most are truly regretting it now. It wasn't that they are stupid people--I think they just bought into all the "hopey & changey". Some were so impressed with his teleprompter speech giving--that they believed him the most intelligent President they ever heard speak. They forgot to listen to the words that came out of this man's mouth--or they put it in the back of their brain & flipped that voting switch for him anyway. They did everything they could to put Rev. Wright out of their mind--his comments to Joe the Plummer--which basically told us who he was & what he was going to do.

Barack Obama never lied on the campaign trail. Everything he promised the masses--he is doing today. He never tried to hide that he is anti-business--is anti capitalist--or is for expansive federal government. It's just that many that voted for him really didn't hear or understand exactly what he was saying. (Socialism) Then there were others that were just casting a vote against G.W. Bush--even though he wasn't running.

Yes, I have family & friends who voted for Obama that are walking around with bags over their heads today.

"The problem with socialism is that government eventually runs out of other peoples money to spend" Margaret Thatcher.

That's not quite true. In fact, he lied incessently.

He tried to pretend MUCH of the time that he was NOT anti-business, for example. He lied and lied and lied.

Then, he lied some more.

All this DESPITE the fact that the truth about him WAS readily available. But the LIB press almost uniformly refused to disseminate the truth. They were the House Organ for the lib Democrat Parody. And, let's get real honest. Even despite orrchestrated liberal media propaganda and the covering up of reality in which they engaged, it was STILL possible for American voters to KNOW the truth about President Obama. The voters, by and large, were too damn lazy to look and WAY too indifferent to be bothered.

We collectively got what we deserved.

President Obama is like a karmic version of PAYBACK. We got what we brought down upon ourselves.

Well--continually stating that he wanted to raise the corporate tax rate indicated an anti-business attitude. He did that at every single campaign stop. I really don't remember him talking in a good manner about any business. Maybe you can refresh my memory but I sure can't think of one single thing that he impressed me with regarding business in this country.---:cuckoo:

Then his continual statements that he wanted trickle-up economics--versus trickle down--"building main street up from the bottom to the top". This really should have given everyone an indication what he was up too. Wealth redistribution--which is the equivalent of socialism.

He said he expected those who had money needed to distribute it to those who didn't. As if they don't already.

I regret not voting in the primaries. Cheney wouldn't have been my choice. That was a huge mistake I won't make again.

Cheney wasn't in the primary?---:cuckoo:

Upps--forgot to add another reason:

I actually heard one woman say she voted for Barack Obama--because she wanted to tell her grandchildren that she voted for the first black POTUS. But--the way it's going now--I doubt she will ever admit that to her grandchildren--

Any of you out there that possibly voted for Obama simply because he is black?

I'm certain that there are...They just don't have the stones to admit it.

Unfortunately--I think there were millions that did just that.

To me--that is the only thing that makes any sense.

No one could have possibly missed that this man was an ultra-liberal--who wanted massive expansive government. He promised higher taxes on the over 250K crowd daily--he promised higher taxes on business--he was all about wealth redistribution. In essense he was all about socialism--& is right now--on a very fast track to get there. That is if he is not stopped.

I believe I just finished NOTING (wtih approval) that Gov. Jindal has said that the Republicans were fired 'for cause." When they were more or less "in power," they were generally ineffective and disappointing.
Oh, they were effective alright....Effective at spending and expanding bureaucracy like liberoidals on meth.

Then they said "sorry 'bout that" by nominating one of the meth heads.

Just to clarify: when I said "ineffective," I meant ineffective at limiting our over-stuffed, bloated and largely unConstitutional comprised Federal government and associated beauracracy.

So, although we may have said it in different ways, I think once again I find myself largely agreeing with you sir Dude.

Had the republicans held true to conservative fiscal values they would have never lost the house or the senate. One thing that all politicians from both parties forget once they get elected is that the majority of Americans are middle right on most policies and they are strong right on fiscal matters.

Americans have to tighten thier belts once things get tough and they absolutely expect the government to do the same. When congress and the senate don't they are going to be fired by the American people when they come up for re-election. The exception being the states of Massachucetts and California, where they keep electing the same idiots over and over and over again.

I know of one good friend who did. She wanted to be able to tell her grandchildren that she voted for the first black President. That's the only reason she gave me for voting for him and now she is regretting that vote. She had no idea how radical he was.

That's probably why Americans should have to take a test before they are allowed to vote--on political issues--past voting records--etc. etc.

Because people who do not pay attention to political matters--economic policies--etc.-- in this country can do some major damage--as we are witnessing today.

If they don't know the candidates & where they stand--if they don't know the issues--PLEASE stay home on election day--you're just cancelling out someone's vote who DOES KNOW. :clap2:

DITTO--It's not that conservatives left that big tent--it's that Republican policians walked out of that tent.

It's still a huge tent--considering that the overwhelming majority of Americans consider themselves to be conservative.

I don't know Oreo, he sure was a smooth teleprompter reader, and I thought he was pretty good, but I snapped out of my coma and to attention when the news came out about his relationship with Rev Wright. Being a regular church goer for most of my life I just could not understand how anyone could listen to the garbage coming out of that man's mouth for twenty years and still attend his church as though he never said any racist or anti-American statements. I might have sat through one of those sermons, but I can guarantee you that I would have never stepped foot in that church again. Oprah couldn't even take it and had to leave his church.

I totally agree with you on taking that test. During the Kerry and Bush election, I was an election judge. I will never forget a young lady came up to our table and asked all of us who she should vote for and what legislative matters she should vote for. Of course, all of us were stunned silent and told her to read her ballot and the ballot measures and that she had to make her own decisions. She was absolutely clueless!!! To this day I wonder why she even bothered showing up at the polls, what a waste of time. She did not care enough to know the difference between Bush and Kerry and she had no idea what she voted for on the legislative side concerning our state. Quite a screwball but unfortunately I think there are millions of them. She probably ended up voting in higher taxes on herself without knowing it.

So she voted for Bush.

Nah, BHO would wax McCain and Palin in a rematch. Let's move on.

He might wax McCain, but I seriously doubt that he would wax Palin. She is a conservative, McCain never was. To this day I don't know why the GOP got behind him, the minute he was nominated was the minute I knew that we would have a democrat in the White House.

You are living in a fantasy world.

The day of the white red neck in the White House is over.

Well Chris, everyone should volunteer to be an election judge just one time in your life. It's quite an experience, not only do they break you up by party, I was forced to sit at that table with one other republican and two democrats. When the day ended we were all forced to ride in the same car with the ballots to the court house. I never knew who were the democrats or the other republican, as we were told not to talk at all any time during that day about politics or our positions on anything. After all the alegations about voter fraud, it was quite refreshing to see that in my state with the balancing of the ballots at the end of the day, it's downright impossible to pull off.
