For those who say intolerance only exists on one side, tell me... is it okay for two (presumably) gay men to spit on a priest who happens on a Gay Pride parade? I know, I know, some of you will think Father Morris is lying because he's a contributor to Fox News, or he has some vendetta against gays, or he's a Christian... the works. But you need to pay close attention to how he reacted to it.

If Christians are supposed to be the bigots and the intolerant ones, why this? Love won. Stay classy.

He was only doing what was part of the job description; nothing to be lauded for.
Does spitting on anyone even have to be addressed?

Anyone can say they were spit on

There isn't enough information to speculate. For all we know the men were former victims of his and I'm not saying it was molestation, it could be a former teacher and we don't even know that. If you want to discuss this or find value you need to produce more than what you have.

I find myself having difficulty supporting gay rights at times like this. I feel empathy for a member of my faith, not for the plight of gays, when I hear of them doing things like that to a man of God.

Yo, it`s the Socialist way, they don`t know what they are doing, in reality!!! If its a war they are asking for? It`s very easy to find a faggot! Better man up fags!!!

You know, you really aren't helping. If they really did want to "start a war", why should we oblige them?

"For those who say intolerance only exists on one side..."

And your thread fails before the end of the first sentence.

No one says intolerance exists only on 'one side.'

That's something ridiculous you and other rightwing nitwits dreamed up along with Christians being 'persecuted' and the 'liberal media' myth.

If he was spat upon, those who did it need to be charged with assault.

Then, every gay person who has gotten married in this country needs to immediately seek annulment. This madness must stop!

If this one report makes you feel that way, I question the depth of your support for individual rights. You seem to be looking for an excuse to disparage the movement based on a solitary instance. It feels a lot like those who talk about soldiers returning from Viet Nam being spit upon, as if they were a regular occurrence instead of isolated instances. It says more about the people reacting than gays or antiwar activists.

You could have just as easily stopped here.

Buuut you had to blow it. Oops.

I didn't blow it dummy. I made fun of you. Had you stopped where you suggested I did,....you wouldn't have started this lame thread. Poor, poor oppressed Christians!

Because they are trying to destroy this once great Country, reason enough!!!

Why must we always resort to violence? If we respond with violence, it will only validate all of the stereotypes the left has heaped upon Christian community.

Yo, that is the reason! Obama could care less about Religious Beliefs, if it is American, but Muslim? He believes fully in that! We are standing up for America! You believe in America? Then you will stand up to this Socialist belief!!

It isn't really deep at the moment, but I'm digging deeper. I have to. But when members of my faith are being assaulted with disgusting displays of bigotry and hatred, then how does that justify my support for gay rights? And no, this specific instance isn't the only one that makes me feel this way.

Can't a man of God walk down a street in broad daylight without be spit on by ravening pride revelers? Can't a archbishop pray in peace without being attacked by radical lesbian feminists? My support for gay rights does not mean I will set aside defending members of my faith.

There are idiots in every crowd. A few years ago during the votes on the ACA, a conservative protestor held up a sign like this fortelling violence if the measure passes...

Are all conservatives to be considered threats to safety because of that nut?

Like I said, it isn't one solitary instance.

Yeah, well, it isn't one solitary instance. You can beat someone, or vandalize their church, douse them with water or what have you.

You are the one trying to make the excuses here.

Assuming this story is true, the men that spat on the priest should charged with assault. There is really isn't much evidence or details to go on with this case.
