Nowhere can this be found in the constitution. Nowhere. It does say, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.” Period. Nothing more.

What's so hard to understand about that?

The article @ Myth Busted: ‘Separation of Church and State’ clearly relates how anti-religious organizations have conducted a campaign to frighten pastors from speaking on political ideals from their pulpits, often using outright lies as part of their threats.

It's about time pastors speak up.

a prime example of the leftards separation....

i despise leftards!!!

"When a religion is good, I conceive it will support itself; and when it does not support itself, and God does not care to support it, so that its professors are obliged to call for the help of the civil power, 'tis a sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one."
-- Ben Franklin; from Poor Richards Almanack (1754)

Do you know how tiresome it is for you to make that same silly claim about separation of church and state not being in the constitution, and then somebody taking the time to explain it to you yet again? Ask hannity to give you some new material. It's just dumb to rehash this one again.

.
No one claims those specific words are in the Constitution. Neither is the "right to a fair trial" but clearly the Constitution does do both. Article VI forbids any religious test for Federal office, and the 1st Amendment forbids the establishment of relgion and protects the free exercise. Jefferson commented that this created a wall of separation. Which it does. The government can neither control nor be controlled by any religon and must treat all religions equally.

What's so hard about that?

Fine, nothing presents them from actively politicking, but let's be real about it and take away their tax exempt status.

In Australia the churches contract all the homeless shelters, charity orgs and employment agencies. It's disgusting. They use tax payers money to push their crazy rubbish.

If there is no separation of church and state...then the state can tell the church what they can or cannot do. Cool.

Instead of your rambling rant, why don't you PROVE to us what you think is the truth?

We do a lot of that here. Google faith based initiatives.

That was the point of my post. It's been proven to you hundreds of times already, but you are still stuck on that same whining point. At least whine about something new occasionally.

ummm, that has nothing to do with separation of church and state and pastors are constitutionally allowed, with no restrictions, from speaking about politics or political ideals from the pulpit.

However, the IRS does have rules that Charities (including but not limited to churches)cannot openly promote candidates and retain 501C(3) tax exempt status.. This includes Churches. But again, that has nothing at all to do with church/state separation.

I don't have the slightest bit of an issue with pastors speaking about social issues and candidates from the pulpit. Churches have always been agents of social change, sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad. I'm curious. How many churches have lost their tax exempt status as result of speaking out about social issues?
