Considering all of the other things they borrow without consent, it's no surprise. Well it saved them from having to blow up a perfectly good Fighter Jet. Makes sense too, in an Al Gore kind of way. ;)

Chinese TV's 'Top Gun' blunder - The Week

Last week, a Chinese state-TV "news" segment purporting to show a Chinese J-10 fighter jet destroying a U.S. aircraft was identified as a clip from the classic 1986 flick Top Gun — leaving state propagandists red-faced. The "blunder," shown to millions of Chinese viewers on January 23, has since been removed from the channel's website.

Clearly, they've mastered a technology that, only a few years ago, we would have thought could only exist in Hollywood. We must ramp up military spending and development in order to meet this challenge and ensure America's place in the world, not only for today, but into the future. That is why I am asking congress to pass a new $12 Billion dollar Military Investment Act to ensure that America will continue to be a beacon of hope and of liberty for all the world. Together with a full-scale invasion of Tuvalu to track down suspected terrorists in the region and ensure future stability, this investment in our tomorrow will make sure that our grandchildren won't have top ask us what liberty was like before the Chinese won the war. *cue applause*
