"Bush Wrecked The Economy And Obama Can't Fix It"

Obama can't fix it?
The smartest guy in the world?
The guy who was gonna stop the rise of the oceans?
I want the $787 billion stimulus back.
Why didn't he know it wouldn't work?

Sure he can fix it. But fixing stuff generally takes longer then destroying stuff. Bush destroyed an economy over his 8 years that was over 230 years in the making. Sheesh..President Obama is supposed to fix that in 3 years?

He was going to stop the rise of the oceans, before the election.
He can't fix a little thing like the economy after 3 years?
He should have said in 2008 that he wasn't smart enough to fix things in less than 8 years.
Maybe he should stop making things worse?

and maybe you could run for president and show us how it is done all by yourself.

When Republicans fuck things up...they fuck them up bad

Two wars

Then they giggle when you can't fix their messes up overnight

And many many people would vote for him over Obama.

Dodd/Frank is supposed to make things better? To improve the economy?
Didn't Sarbanes/Oxley already create a perfect utopia? Why not?

Sarbanes/Oxley was never enforced. With the exception of Madoff, who confessed and basically had to practically drag law enforcement into his office to arrest him, you see any CEOs get frogged marched into Police Precincts? They were plenty of them that lied about their books.

And Dodd/Frank weak as it is..is the ire of Conservatives. They want nothing regulating their precious derivatives.

You think derivatives caused this mess?
Do you even know what a derivative is?

Think I have a pretty good idea.

I met the man that made them.

So you guys doubled down on the wars and fucked things up further by destroying any confidence.

And the best you can muster is WHAT? OK Erkel

And the ultimate tragedy is, of course, as left and right pointlessly battle over who caused the December 2007 recession, no efforts are being made to address the issue.

There have been plenty of efforts made to address the issue. Dodd/Frank act was one of them.

Who's trying to get that repealed? Who wouldn't even confirm Elizabeth Warren?

It's seriously tough to work in an environment where the people most responsible for screwing things up won't acknowledge fault and block every effort to correct problems.

dod frank is a mess, but hey its like paygo right? another democratic legislative victory that th4ey are already trying to take apart....due to "unforeseen circumstances".....!!!!!

how about Sarbanes–Oxley ? that was a winner to eh? another mess they both own.

Congress runs the show, not the president. Congress is responsible for financial mess or success as it were, not the president. Clinton enjoyed a good economy. Why? Republicans ran congress. Reagan did good despite the Democrats running congress. Democrats ran congress during Bush #1 AND the last 2 years of Bush #2. THAT's when things really went down hill. That's why quite frankly I'd like to see Obama stay put and put the Republicans in charge of congress. Any good that happens then of course Obama will get credit for, but at least the liberal media will leave him alone.

but in reality we've had one recession after the next over the 50 years that I remember anything about the government. And usually during that time the Democrats have been in charge of congress. They weren't during Clinton and look how great that turned out. yet Clinton took the credit when he did nothing but he was busy with other endeavors while he was supposed to be running the country.

I just don't think that anyone outside of a few on this site actually believe that one man is responsible for this bad economy.I don't think Americans or the rest of the World is that idiotic. To give the Democrats a pass on this is insane.Whats crazier then thinking Bush alone is responsible is the belief that Obama doesn't have ANY accountability for not making things better.

I beg to differ.

One man can make a huge difference when it comes to hiring people that can and do make things worse.

He has a regulatory czar that thinks that the planet would be better off with less people in it. He figures animals should have lawyers and that humans are a virus.

If you have a policy that is consistently anti-business of course the economy won't improve.

First he puts roadblocks in the way of business with his looney-tunes regulations, then he tells them to take actions they know are hazardous to their bottom-lines.

He demonizes the rich then expects them to bail him out when it all goes to shit.

Yes, one man can make a difference.

 Destroying confidence?

Seriously?

All the wall street CEOs should be happy they aren't sitting in the pokey.

But to thank everyone for the bailouts, they moved more jobs overseas, borrowed more money, bought back stock and put cheap liquidity into interest bearing counts. And they are pouting, stamping their feet and crying hysterically while making record profits.

And the thing you guys wanna do is coddle them further.

Now watch this drive!

We can hold Bush II responsible only for what he did or did not do

Likewise Obama.

Jesus! you partisans are blinded by your own hatred.

I know from past experience you are not up to this conversation. Run along junior.

"The guy(Obama) keeps making speeches about redistribution and maybe we ought to do something to businesses that don't invest, their holding too much money. We haven't heard that kind of talk except from pure socialists"

A pure socialists would want to nationalize industry, your far from the actual, factual socialism.

You mean an honest socialist would say that. However, how many socialists are honest about their intentions? You can count them on your fingers.

Is this a "Self Evident" thing, a "You should know" thing, or a "I've already explained" this thing.

Because mostly..you aren't up to the conversation..because you never seem to know what the fuck you are talking about.

Unless it's parroting something off a right wing blog.

You funny guy.

Get a job yet?

Still looking on my end.

But since 8/8 been interviewing like crazy.

me? I got laid of April of 09 and got a new one July1 09 ( my start date I was 'hired' June 3) , I actually interviewed for the new job before my official last day....good luck to you, and I mean that.

If Obama can't do the job he should get out of the fucking way so someone can. Bush hurt the economy yes but Obama took it to a whole new level of bad. The Bush recession would have corrected itself in the first year of Obama's presidency if he just backed off, but now almost 3 years later Obama has caused another recession.

The best thing Obama could have done was walk into office and end TARP and the wars... Then sat on his hands and veto everything. He would be in a booming economy by now and the deficit would be a lot smaller. Oh and we wouldn't have been downgraded, thanks for that Obama.
