Where do you get YOUR information?

I get my information from newer sources. Thomas Jefferson was one of the founding fathers of Virginia, and he was a Unitarian, which is not even Christian today in some churches. If Thomas Jefferson had been able to travel around the world the way we can today, do you think he would have limited 'forbearance, love and charity towards each other' narrowly to Christianity?' I don't think so.

So you are assuming that Thomas Jefferson was too ignorant to know about Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, etc. Yes, Thomas Jefferson lived a long time ago, but those religions were around WAY before he walked this earth and they were well known throughout the educated world. Thomas Jefferson was educated and therefore, must have known about at least, these religions. So why did he only mention Christianity?

History will show that the last president with this type of crisis,( and that was soi reviled and openly hated was honest Abe. The newspapers of the time called him "the ape" and other such hatespeech that would land you on jerry springer today.Faced with a press that siezes on the worst facet of every situation,( if he found the fountain of youth and dispenced the waters free it would be deemed socialist and why not charge for it and reduce the irreducible deficit?), he chooses not to react and when speaking to his constituentcy keeps the topics pertinant. Then when he does interject a bit of wit, (which most think him incapable of; for instance the other day he drawled that'my opponant has come around to my way of thinking on the subject of the Iraq war, but there are 84 days left in the campaign'), it is devastating. I am sure that the American people will put this God-fearing man back in the white house where he belongs. If only to contrast him with the vicious, "war hero" that he runs against.
