We asked the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition service for month-by-month figures going back to January 2001. And they show that under President George W. Bush the number of recipients rose by nearly 14.7 million. Nothing before comes close.

And under Obama, the increase so far has been 14.2 million. To be exact, the program has so far grown by 444,574 fewer recipients during Obama's time in office than during Bush's.
The number getting food stamps declined by 43,528 in October. And the economy has improved since then.

The food stamp program, officially known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), has grown from 26.3 million people in 2007 to 44.7 million last year, an increase of nearly 70 percent.

The enrollment explosion, as Democrats point out, began with the start of the recession under President George W. Bush—though they conveniently neglect to add that they were running Congress. But the growth has accelerated under Obama, who expanded the program.

We continure to blame Bush because he put this recession in motion and the results are still being seen. This is just an extension of what Bush did in 8 years and you want Obama to clean up his mess asap and it may never be fixed because it is so big. Actually, I've said how Obama did it many times. Would you like to hear it again? Coming into office Obama made a calculated decision to put the economy and jobs on the back burner to devote the majority of his energy and political capital on the "Progressive Holy Grail", ObamaCare...a piece of legislation that is so bad that not only do a huge percentage of the electorate don't want it...but only 28% of physicians now approve of it. A piece of legislation that doesn't lower health care costs, will add staggering amounts of debt to our already ballooning national debt and just to make things PERFECT will most likely be ruled unconstitutional.

At the same time he used the financial crisis to pass the Obama Stimulus...a progressive pork fest that rewarded public sector union members for their support...gave hundreds of millions to "green industry" companies like Solyndra that promptly went belly up...promised a veritable tidal wave of "shovel ready" jobs building infrastructure that in reality never existed and never were delivered...and gave everyone a four hundred dollar tax "rebate" that didn't so squat to stimulate the economy but DID let him say he'd fulfilled his campaign promise to give 95% of Americans a tax cut!

Obama fucked the pooch with his economic policies because he bought into the whole progressive Keynesian school of thought that believed you can spend your way out of a recession by investing heavily in Government programs. The authors of that disaster of economic theory...Larry Summers and Christina Romer...have both bolted back to the safety of their ivy league ivory towers because their economic policies were such an unmitigated disaster. Since THEY left, this Administration hasn't had ANY economic policy other than renaming the original stimulus plan and calling it a "jobs plan" this time around. Sorry to point out the obvious here, Don't...but your guy Obama is CLUELESS when it comes to economics.
