Bush Numbers Until Democrats took Control of Congress.

The fact remains that it was Democrat policies that are directly linked to the Housing Bubble - namely the absolute refusal to reign in the out of control mortgage laundering done via Fannie and Freddie Mac.

The Housing Bubble led to the credit crisis, followed by the overall recession.

The Bush administration tried repeatedly to do something about the Fannie-Freddie issue but the Dems, mainly Dodd, Frank, and Waters, would have none of it.

The Bush administration - as well as the then-Republican controlled Congress, should have been far more forceful about it though - it was too far off of their primary agenda - but the blame lies primarily with the Democrats for creating the very environment they are now stating they must repair.

When President Obama states "it was the tired policies of the last eight years that got us into this mess" he is being dishonest. It's a common political move to blame the previous party for the current challenges, but in this case, quite dishonest even by "normal" DC political standards.

Indeed, but good luck selling that post Obama.

I suppose the OP fails to realize how things like the housing crisis, unregulated markets, two wars (one for no good reason),etc, etc all happened under the Bush Administration and Republican Congress. We have not yet even felt the full effects of what happened the past eight years.

But one can't expect the OP to realize such facts, that we don't always feel the effects of actions taken in the present on the economy until a good amount of time later.

True enough - though that truth is spreading slowly as Americans awaken from the collective slumber induced by the vacant charms of a candidate who now faces the far more real task of delivering.

We shall see...

This is what you're doing Sinatra. Though in you're case, you're wishing for things that don't exist.

I suppose you ignore the fact he already fulfilled several promises.

What has he fulfilled - and were those decisions right for America?

What has he fulfilled - and were those decisions right for America?

He has appointed at least one Republican to his cabinet (two actually now).

He banned lobbyist gifts to executive employees.

He overturned Ledbetter vs. Goodyear which helps people get the wages they should be getting.

He signed a order that new hires to sign a form affirming their hiring was not due to political affiliation or contributions.

Brought back the original concept of the Presidential Records Act.

He signed the bill that expands SCHIP.

And of course, several others that are in the works.
