First of all, Bush's grandfather did manage a company that employed Polish prisoners of Auschowitz, mining for nickel. That is the truth.

There were a lot of people who thought they were backing the winning horse by supporting Hitler... including Prescott Bush, Walt Disney and Charles Lindburgh. The "America-Firsters" then weren't all that different from the America firsters now except that now they want a wall between the U.S. and Mexico. Then they wanted Europe to keep to itself and didn't want Jewish refugees.

Here's a BBC radio program I just listened to about the 1933 attempted fascist coup on the United States government....ya, it happened. Except the General they contacted to be their military leader, wanted no part of it. They miscalculated. If General Smedley Butler had been made of lesser stuff, we would have been fighting for the other team just a few years later.
