And each and every time the message was the same: If we didn't wage war, Iraq was going to attack the United States homeland with its enormous arsenal of ghastly weapons

Sorry, but the progaganda boat sailed in vietnam. 50,000 american soldiers dead under lbj's adventure in the jungle.

It wasn't LBJ's but why can't we learn from Vietnam? Why can't we learn from Iraq?

Instead, we have politicians wanting to do it again.

President Obama did not do any of those things.

Bush Sr avoided the temptation to invade Iraq

He did not want the US to assume the headache of all Iraqs secular troubles

Baby Bush should have followed his lead

How about this whopper...

10/7/02 Bush delivers a speech in which he says, "Facing clear evidence of peril, we cannot wait for the final proof—the smoking gun—that could come in the form of a mushroom cloud." Also says Iraq is exploring ways of using drones to target the US, although Iraq's drones have a reach of only 300 miles.

Officially, yes. Technically, no. Kennedy sent the first spies in. Why didn't we learn from vietnam?[/QUOTE]

The will of the Vietnamese people could not be allowed to prevail by the Empire

10/8/02 . Knight Ridder reports: "[A] growing number of military officers, intelligence professionals and diplomats in his own government privately have deep misgivings about the administration's double-time march toward war. These officials charge that administration hawks have exaggerated evidence of the threat that Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein poses…'Analysts at the working level in the intelligence community are feeling very strong pressure from the Pentagon to cook the intelligence books,' said one official, speaking on condition of anonymity."

Yes, and I'm sure that there's no way a drone could be smuggled into the US, right?

Bush and Cheney did not invade Iraq because they had been hoodwinked by bad intelligence. They claimed the intelligence was solid—when it wasn't. And they made stuff up. Days before the March 2003 invasion of Iraq, Bush told the American public, "Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised." Yet plenty of doubt existed. Intelligence analysts had registered uncertainty regarding all of the significant aspects of Bush's case for war. Moreover, Bush and Cheney had for months tossed out a series of claims that were not supported by any confirmed intelligence.

Well since you believe Bush lied then every intelligence agency in the world was lying right along with him.

Funny how that works. Bush's intelligence and the intelliegence of all those other agencies in all those other countries said the same thing but somehow Bush lied.

Oh wait. I forgot. Its Rightwinger. Never mind.
And Clinton didnt lie. Even though Clinton said exactly what Bush was saying. And plenty of other Democrats too.
It's amazing. The same things are truth by Clinton but a lie by Bush. Only liberals....

Don't you find it rather hilarious that all these lefty loons keep talking about Bush?? Bush isn't the POTUS and hasn't been for seven years yet here they are still bitching over Bush's presidency.

Hell. If I were them I'd be raving over Barry's Presidency.

Oh wait. I forgot. Barry sucks as POTUS and there is absolutely nothing to rave about. Never mine.

WE INTERRUPT THIS TOPIC FOR AN ORANGE ALERT! TERRORISTS HAVE BEEN HEARD BREATHING IN THE BEDROOM CLOSET!

Well dipshit. They gassed and killed five thousand Kurds with something. Sure wasn't something non toxic.

Bill Clinton said Saddam was developing WMD's. About 35% of the democrats who voted for boots on the ground had the same access to intelligence as the president did. President Bush gave Saddam about a year to comply with about 100 U.N. sanctions and WMD's were a minor part of the stated resolution that was approved by congress before the democrat party un-approved it and became traitors by undermining the mission.

Doesn't matter who provided it dipshit. They had it. They used it and killed five thousand people with it and who's to say they didn't have more??

Dipshit.

Michael Morell,
a longtime CIA official who eventually became the agency's deputy director and acting director. During the preinvasion period, he served as Bush's intelligence briefer.

Appearing on MSNBC's Hardball on Tuesday night, Morell made it clear: The Bush-Cheney administration publicly misrepresented the intelligence related to Iraq's supposed WMD program and Saddam's alleged links to Al Qaeda.

Bush got the intelligence he demanded and ignored or brushed aside intelligence saying his information was dubious or inaccurate

He told us what he wanted us to know

Bush invaded to enforce UN sanctions but ignored the UN when they told him an invasion was not warranted
