Pensioners burn books for warmth

Hard-up pensioners have resorted to buying books from charity shops and burning them to keep warm.

Volunteers have reported that ‘a large number’ of elderly customers are snapping up hardbacks as cheap fuel for their fires and stoves.

Temperatures this week are forecast to plummet as low as -13ºC in the Scottish Highlands, with the mercury falling to -6ºC in London, -5ºC in Birmingham and -7ºC in Manchester as one of the coldest winters in years continues to bite.

Yeah, not sure Brits are watching FNC. More likely their sister channel, Sky News. ;)

And...yes, this is one of the coldest winters ever in the northern hemisphere. Heck, I'm in Atlanta where we've seen lows in the single digits and haven't really gotten above freezing in a week. We have a snow storm headed our way for Thursday.

We've been having *terrible* trouble with global warming as of late. ;)

HARWOOD: "So could these high prices help us?"
BARACK OBAMA: "I think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment.

It better warm up in time for the Masters.

Flying in for some business and going to get to check out the practice rounds. Never been inside Augusta so I am very stoked.
