When I see a woman in a Burka, the first thing I think is that I should not talk to her or even look at her. It tells me that she is private property, not to be messed with, not to integrate into society. If she does talk to me, could it mean that she is risking her well being when the man that owns her finds out about it? So I just don't say a word.

I was thinking about getting one to use as a robe around the house, minus the face thingy.

bur·ka ˈbərkə/ noun a long, loose garment covering the whole body from head to feet, worn in public by many Muslim women.

ni·qab nəˈkäb noun a veil worn by some Muslim women in public, covering all of the face apart from the eyes.

burka or niqab...or anything of the sort....

when I see a woman wearing a niqab (not often seen here I must admit)

and it is summer ..I feel so sorry for them

in winter I feel sorry too.

They who wear it are in a lifestyle to which you are not invited.

Respect it.
Respect it?

All I see is a walking explosive that breeds for the sole purpose of outnumbering people in any given country in order to vote their way into power.

When have any of you seen anyone in a burka?

I think you mean a niqab. I've never seen anyone wearing a burka in the US.

both are worn in some places of the US. Depends on the culture. Neither are required by religion. Modesty, to cover the naked breasts during prayer, is all that is required.

I have...

A 4th or 5th cousin came to an extended family reunion with her husband wearing full gear. About the only ones that approached her were other females...

Then there were a couple females, being escorted by their men friends, at the ISU (Iowa State University) campus dressed in full gear when I was taking some courses there.
