GAZA, (PIC)-- A delegation of high-profile figures from England arrived in the Gaza Strip Friday evening shortly after the arrival of another delegation from the international committee for the reconstruction of Gaza.

Sources from the crossings authority told PIC that a member of the British House of Lords, a member from the British House of Commons, and chairman of the Interpal charity in London, arrived this evening in the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing, as part of the Miles for Smiles 2 convoy, which includes 60 leading figures from Europe. The convoy is expected to enter the Gaza Strip Saturday to deliver the aid relief on board.

The delegation is scheduled to meet Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haneyya and members of the Legislative Council in the Strip, and to assay the effects of the war in the region.

Another delegation from the international committee for the reconstruction of Gaza arrived before the British delegation through the Rafah crossing, in southern Gaza Strip.
