Long after the Roman Empire first branded Jews’ land “palaestina,” Britain after World War 1 created “palestine” as a name for the British Mandate that eventuated in Israeli statehood in 1948, and British “palestine” ceased to exist. “Palestine” was a Western colonialist creation.

Israel was created in the usual way, the same way all States are created and finalized with her Declaration of Independence and acceptance as a full member of the UN. It was not. It was the entirely legal expression of the Jewish people to reassert their rights to their indigenous homeland with the consensus of the international community at the time and fully within the legal parameters of the time.
