What do you mean they stood up to him? The country voted for Brexit. It's his responsibility to be the steward of seeing that through, so when you say the Parliament is "standing up to him" what they are really doing is defying the will of their constituents who voted for this and essentially saying that representative government is nothing more than an illusion.

Doesn't change the fact when the vote was held that was not the outcome it seems people would find it highly disturding that the government would continue to delay the will of the voters till they can get the outcome they didn't get during the election.
