Did you know that bribery is an impeachable offense? I wonder if he is found guilty of this sestak garbage if he will be removed from office.

The President, Vice President and all Civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

yep it is an impeachable offense.

And nope, they can not prove sestak was bribed so no, he will not be impeached for it.

There will never be any evidence that he bribed anyone because these type of things are not recorded and always done through a proxy. Impeachment is not going to happen and pursuing it is a waste of energy we do not really have.

The "Bribe" was for remaining in the Congress and receiving an appointment to a Presidential/White House Commission. There was no monetary gain.

Nice try, did you know that the great ronnie rectum god offered S.I.(Sam) Hiacowa a monied position, in HIS administration to drop out of the Senate Race in 1982? Admiral Sestak refused to accept the position. He continued in the race and beat that lowlife belly crawling repug turncoat specter.

No money was offered or accepted. There was no bribe shit head.

And you beleived that when Sestak referred to it as a high ranking poisiton in the administration 3 months earlier, he was referring to a commission.

And when he said 3 months earlier that it was a high ranking WH official who made the offer, he was referring to a retired politician.

And when it took the WH 3 months to make a statement on it, it was becuase they were too busy and it had nothing to do with using the time to see if it either goes away or convince some poor retired politiican to take the fall.

Jeez. And you wonder why we call you sheep.

Who said a bribe had to involve a monetary gain?

It must be deemed as something of value.

damn- there goes every member of the house, the entire senate, everyone in the white house, everyone in washington, everyone holding or running for public ofice, everyone in the media, and everyone who joins message boards except you and me, and I am not sure about you.

Plus, it will be seen as "Those Mean Ole Republicans at it Again!" if they try to impeach Obama so soon after impeaching Clinton on grounds that the average American thought were trash.

Unless you've got something rock solid against Obama, something undeniably criminal that can be proved beyond reasonable doubt, impeachment isn't the way to go. At this point all it would accomplish is creating a ground swell of sympathy for him. If the GOP tried it they'd be handing him the Oval Office in 2012.

The Sestak thing quite frankly doesn't have legs any more than the Blagovich mess in Illinois. If enough taxpayer money is wasted, you might, just might, pull down some sub-cabinet level flunky. And that's about it. You're about as likely to nail Obama on either mess as you are to prove Cheney was taking money from Haliburton.

well, the 'mean ole republicans' spent 70 million dollars of our money pursuing a failed land deal and ending up with a blue dress.

they spent 7 million investigating 9.11.

the math doesn't work out too well, imo.

And the democrats spent 787 billion dollars on "not allowing unemployment to go any more than 2 points higher than they promised it would go"

Clinton Impeachment=Most Expensive Fishing Trip in History.

It was roughly similar to hiring the entire Marine Biology department at a tier one University, the Pacific Fleet, and Jacques Costeau for a fishing trip.... and coming back with a goldfish.

Worse, it actually has created some sympathy for the guy.

Doing that again now would be the height of insanity.

Any accusation of wrongdoing in the WH that has some credibility deserves to be investigated. If the investigation results in evidence of wrongdoing and the law refers to such wroingdoing as an impeachable offense, then impeachement proceedings should take place no matter how it makes the opposing party look.

Now, in this case, an impeachable offense was accused by Sestak 3 months ago. Now, 3 months later, his story is completely different. So it warrants an investigation.

Or we, the people, may as well simply tell the government "do as you please"
