BREAKING --- already at least four threads created already. Already bumped off the new topics list, that's how "breaking".

BREAKING -- this is not a "Media" story.

If its carried by the media then yes it is.

No it ain't Pinkie. *EVERYTHING* is "carried by the media". If it weren't ------- nobody would know about it.
Think about it.

The "Media" forum is for stories about Media. What newspaper is being bought by who, what some journalist did, what somebody's ratings are, what new internet legislation might be coming, what the FCC is doing. This website is part of "Media".

By your lame definition everything that exists not only here but anywhere on the internet would be "Media".

This particular story is about a shooting; it's about police; it's possibly about race relations; it's current events. None of which is "media".

And what the media is producing. Its producing this as a money maker thus its media idiot.

Wrong.

What would make it a "Media" story would be --- let's say the whole event was a hoax contrived by a TV station looking for ratings. Or perhaps the story's already out there and some media outlet is called to task for how they report it. THAT's what it means to be about "Media".

Every news item or bit of information of any kind is transmitted by Media by definition. That doesn't make them "stories about Media".

What's more --- the OP himself agrees, since he just posted the same story again in Current Events. Even though it's already been posted by four other people, that's where it belongs.

Once again your stupid shows. How much money will the media make of this event? What sponsors will buy air time to carry this event? Who stands to profit by this media showing?

Go open a thread on that. I'll show up.

But this ain't it. There's no such thought in the OP. At all.

If the OP feels its okay to talk about the media presentation in it and I introduce it in the thread its on topic and fits the forum.
Suggest I open a thread about it is YOU trying to get me to derail the OP.

Its here, its current and it works.

Maybe you're just a charter member of the Illiterati. The OP reported a story of a current event. He said nothing about "Media".

And he's since gone and posted the same story under "Current Events". Because that's what it is.

Learn to read someday.
