BREAKING news on Newt!!

The stupidest thing I've seen in this thread (about 1000 times, no less):

"Democrats in this country are......"

"Nuh-uh! That's not what Obama's doing at all, you're such a liar!"

Kind of like the Republican Party being the political branch of FOX News.

Of the 20 major media outlets studied, 18 scored left of center, with CBS' "Evening News," The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times ranking second, third and fourth most liberal behind the news pages of The Wall Street Journal.

Only Fox News' "Special Report With Brit Hume" and The Washington Times scored right of the average U.S. voter.

The most centrist outlet proved to be the "NewsHour With Jim Lehrer." CNN's "NewsNight With Aaron Brown" and ABC's "Good Morning America" were a close second and third.

"Our estimates for these outlets, we feel, give particular credibility to our efforts, as three of the four moderators for the 2004 presidential and vice-presidential debates came from these three news outlets — Jim Lehrer, Charlie Gibson and Gwen Ifill," Groseclose said. "If these newscasters weren't centrist, staffers for one of the campaign teams would have objected and insisted on other moderators."

The fourth most centrist outlet was "Special Report With Brit Hume" on Fox News, which often is cited by liberals as an egregious example of a right-wing outlet. While this news program proved to be right of center, the study found ABC's "World News Tonight" and NBC's "Nightly News" to be left of center. All three outlets were approximately equidistant from the center, the report found.

"If viewers spent an equal amount of time watching Fox's 'Special Report' as ABC's 'World News' and NBC's 'Nightly News,' then they would receive a nearly perfectly balanced version of the news," said Milyo, an associate professor of economics and public affairs at the University of Missouri at Columbia.

Media Bias Is Real, Finds UCLA Political Scientist / UCLA Newsroom

Does it hurt to be proven wrong?

Have you ever heard of Rupert Murdoch and his empire?

And once again, there are more liberals in the media, because the media consists of educated people.
I believe the word you were looking for is "indoctrinated".

As a historian, Gingrich is interested in the past and this simply is a discussion of the past. Not sure why we must neglect the history of our republican candidates but Obama's birth is still of interest to the wingnuts? Seems there's the hypocrisy, and Yahoo is boring and just another corporate tool imho. More of the past, aka history, below.

"magine, if you will, a man who, as Speaker of the House, orchestrates the impeachment of a President for an adulterous affair with a White House aide twenty-six years his junior while he himself is conducting an adulterous affair with a congressional aide twenty-two years his junior, having earlier left the first of his three wives while she was hospitalized with cancer. Imagine a man who attributes these behaviors to “how passionately I felt about this country.” Imagine a man who, told he can’t sit in a front section of Air Force One, shuts down the government. Imagine a man who becomes the only House Speaker ever to be disciplined for ethics violations. Imagine a man who, in a country just staggering out of the worst recession of the past fifty years and facing the threat of worldwide economic collapse, proposes to hire small children to work as janitors, mopping floors and cleaning toilets in their schools (or their orphanages, perhaps). Imagine that man as Commander-in-Chief. It’s no stretch for him. His fantasy life is so rich that he has already compared himself to Abraham Lincoln, Charles de Gaulle, Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, and (for sheer perseverance) Ho Chi Minh. The providential self-destruction of the three previous non-Mitt Romney front-runners, Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, and Herman Cain, will have done nothing to diminish his sense of himself as a man of destiny." Newt Gingrich’s Alternative History : The New Yorker

Yeah, except Clinton wasn't impeached for having an adulterous affair.

More left wing lies.

Uh-huh. :doubt:

And the Civil War wasn't about state secession either.

Obama is wanting Romney, the campaign is orchestrating this. Every front runner but Romney has been attacked. Romney (big business capitalist) is a lot easier to beat than any of the other candidates. Look at Obama's core voters, only Romney, doesn't collide with his core.

That's the unbiased media that isn't in the tank for obummer we keep hearing about.

Does it hurt to be proven wrong?

I don't see why people rush to the defense of a propaganda outfit partially owned by the very same people that brought New Yorkers..9/11.

Oh wait..that's probably because they aren't from New York. Or Washington DC.

Nevermind.

Have you ever heard of Rupert Murdoch and his empire?

And once again, there are more liberals in the media, because the media consists of educated people.

WOW

It musta hurt real bad.

It's from The Uinversity of California at Los Angelas.

any more of a liberal source and it would have to come form Harvard or Berkley.

suck it up and be a man. Admit you're wrong. The research proves it.

"You learn something new everyday." Get an early start.

No one is hurt, except that I wasted my time on you.

I will try again. The more educated a person is, the more chance that they will be a liberal, check the average grade attended by the population of the red states against the population of the blue states, and the blue states win hands down. People in the media are educated people, so they tend to be more liberal.
Again the word is indoctrinated. Education has little to do with intelligence and sometimes, even less to do with real world knowledge.

I can't see a valid reason to run this story at all.

I can. It will sell. It will make Yahoo money.

That leaves me with no other conclusion than they intentionally want to harm Newts reputation as an honest man.

Actually, your own bias leaves you with no other conclusion. Strip that away and the conclusion is clear: Yahoo is doing what they believe will make them money.

The guys a first class douche bag, but not a criminal.

Nobody cares. In the words of Jerry McGuire, "SHOW ME THE MONEY!"
A headline, "obama admits to snorting cocaine" would sell too. Do you think that is relevant in 2012?

If Yahoo acquires information about the President using cocaine, I'm sure they will run the story. You might be surprised to learn this, but Yahoo is a business. And businesses are in the game to make money. Yahoo is a huge business, at that. You don't get that kind of success without being run by smart business people who are very good at making profit through hard work and intelligence. If there was a story that would sell, and a huge business like Yahoo had the story, they'd run it. Simply because it would be good business. That's all there is to it. SHOW ME THE MONEY!

You have it bass-ackwards - FOX News is the media branch of the Republican Party.

A Twofer!!!

And on the same page no less!!!

:lol::badgrin::rofl::badgrin::lol:

One program aired per day that regularly flashes b:boobies:bies does not a porn channel make.

What about all the Hannity-style filler between the 'official' nightly news casts?

Besides, it's an apples to oranges comparison - ABC and NBC are broadcast entertainment channels with a news program. Only for the news and information programming is there the expectation of 100% objectivity - FOX NEWS, by definition as a Cable News Outlet, is expected to be 100% objective in its programming, leaving the bullshitting and entertaining to her sister channel, FOX.

Kind of like the Republican Party being the political branch of FOX News.

You have it bass-ackwards - FOX News is the media branch of the Republican Party.

No, FOX News is much more powerful than the Republican Party.

Raise your hand if you understand sarcastic humor and how it can be subtle at times.

Jokes are funny because there's truth in them, not because they are true.

He did use cocaine in his youth and he admitted it leading up to the '08 election.

The point and question is the fairness and/or validity of re-running old headlines in the hope of confusing republican primary voters in to thinking Newt is currently being a bad boy.

I would think that republican primary voters would be smarter than that, but I'm an optimist.

:eusa_think: On the other hand, if anyone thinks the Obama Used Cocaine headline has seen its last run, they're naive.

:(:(:(:(

Cry me a river. It is part of the vetting process. Of course, the really good stuff on Newt won't come out until AFTER he is nominated. Then there will be no turning back...:eusa_clap::eusa_clap:

The Obama administration is clearly afraid of Newt.

A whole hell of a lot of people are afraid of Newt, for good reason. This is one dangerous son of a bitch. If he finds his way into the Oval Office, we are all going to be screwed.

Newt is a smart guy - no one thinks he isn't. His problem is, that he is not a good leader. When he gets into a position of power, he goes a little nuts.

I sincerely hope he doesn't make it.

Not to derail, but has anyone else gotten that Virus off this site yet? Be careful. Make sure your Anti-Virus security is up to date. This site is infected pretty badly. Ok,just wanted to give the heads up.

Oooooh..I see. There was a CONSPIRACY to impeach Clinton under false pretenses because people were soooo offended by his adultery. All the rest was just cover.

Responding to sensationalism with more sensationalism is not going to do much productive. Would a President Gingrich be undesirable? In my opinion yes. Would he do a "good" job? In my opinion, probably not. Would he do an absolutely horrifyingly horrible job? Again, probably not.

Media Bias Is Real, Finds UCLA Political Scientist / UCLA Newsroom

It was proven years ago that the UCLA study was inaccurate, as conservatives its authors lacked objectivity, and the study's methodology was flawed:

The Groseclose/Milyo methodology doesn't allow for differential rates of productivity in producing work of interest to the media or Congress between organizations. To the extent that a think tank is better at marketing itself to the press than Congress (or vice versa), it could skew the results. For instance, the Heritage Foundation is extremely close to conservative members of Congress and has an elaborate operation designed to put material into their hands. But the fact that these members end up citing Heritage more than the press does is not ipso facto proof that the media is liberal.

In fact, there are a number of stories you can tell about why a media/Congress discrepancy in think tank citation would not necessarily imply ideological bias on the part of members of the elite media (including those listed above) and if any of them are true, the argument as stated does not hold.

The problems with the Groseclose/Milyo study of media bias - Brendan Nyhan

Consequently there is no such thing as ‘liberal media bias,’ it’s a pathetic contrivance of the right and non-issue.

Does it hurt to be proven wrong?

You may now answer your own question.

Otherwise, the Yahoo News article is about an investigation of Marianne Gingrich, whose case was disclosed this week – a perfectly legitimate news story.

The impeachment HAD to be all about lying under oath to congress because face-fucking fat interns behind your wife's back may be stupid and in poor taste, but it's NOT illegal.

The FBI is investigating him for taking bribes!!!

Oh, wait.

This bullshit is from 1997 and there never was an actual investigation.

But it's headline news on Yahoo.

Why the hell is that?

FBI considered sting aimed at Gingrich - Yahoo! News
Because the left can not honestly run a good campaign without smearing those running against them they fear. Obamaturd did the same thing when McCain picked Palin, he sent his thugs to Alaska. The libtards are cowards.
