Breaking News and Confirmed: Arizona Senate Passes Presidential Eligibility Bill 21-9

If AZ really has passed this bill (OP's source isn't exactly a reliable one), then I for one, am glad. I know the birthers are dripping from the vag thinking about Obama being left off the ballot (because they are apparently unsure that he can be defeated in 2012), I'm going to love hearing their excuses when each and every state affirms that Obama is a natural born citizen. I just hope that the bill has been written properly so as to not be constitutionally defective.

Wouldn't it be funny if obama doesn't run in Arizonia?:eusa_whistle:

OH, OH, OH, you know what would be really funny? If a giant supermutant dolphin swam up and jumped out of the water and landed on top of San Francisco and leveled the city. That would be funny!

It would be funny if obama didn't run in Arizoia. It really would. The voting public would start to wonder why he was not running for president in that state. It might affect his votes in other states.

So is the State of Arizona going to overrule the State of Hawaii on this?

The Supreme Court will be interested

Nope what Ariaonia's doing is telling those who want to run for office within there state line they must show the proper paper work according to their state law.

No, that is incorrect.

What the state of Arizona would be doing is deciding whether the recognized citizens of the State of Hawaii can run for president in their state.

There's a reason why Sections 1 and 2 of Article 4 of the Constitution exist, and this is it.

I posted them before, but since you seem to not want to pay attention to the portion of the conversation that happened a couple of pages back, here they are again:

Article IV Section 1
"Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof."

Article IV, Section 2:
The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.

The Constitution is VERY clear in this matter. One state cannot pick and choose what citizens of another state it will or will not accept as a candidate for higher office. Once Arizona does that, then Hawaii can turn around and say Arizona citizens are no longer eligible to run for office in their state.

OH, OH, you know what would also be funny? If Martians landed and sucked everyone's brains out!

LMFAO!!! I read the comments there by the libs-- OMG, TOO FUNNY!! They're freaking out, spewing and cracked lips- worried their messiah is done~ Liberals would rather the Constitution be usurped than give up power.. Make no mistake about it. Oh well-- TOOO BAD! I'd say that's checkmate once the House passes it.. DingleBarry will HAVE to show a legal BC or not run. Hahahahahahahaha LOLOL Ohhh, it's just too good.

That's something.

The law won't stand up to the Constitution and you talk about usurped?
U.S. Constitution: States conduct the selection of presidential electors in ANY MANNER THEY PLEASE.

That's incorrect.

No, that's right. States are allowed to choose whatever means of selecting their electors they like. It just so happens that each and every state has passed laws that call for a general election as their means of selecting electors.

What are the federal electoral rules was vetting a person who's wishing to run for office? There isn't any. It's decided by the state attorney general.

Fine proof of citizenship should be good enough. You know if I wasn't a burfur and supported obama I would say obama show your long form because if I supported him I would know he had nothing to hide.

Wouldn't they have to prove their eligibility TO THE UNITED STATES???? This is likely to be deemed unconstitutional.

Yes sir the american voting public isn't that stupid they would start thinking obama was hiding something and start thinking about voting for the other guy.

I still can't find any credible evidence that this stupid bill passed

Lol

The nutters got over. Good for them.

More talk about birth certificate = less chance of Republicans winning in 2012.

1 OF 2 POSSIBILITIES WILL HAPPEN HERE
obama shows his long form
obama doesn't run in Arizona
If obama doesn't run in Arizona people will start to think he's hiding something and will start to think about not votng for him. Either way it's a win win for the electorial process.

It still has to pass the house and still has to be signed by the governor.

Actually there are at least four possibilities (if the bill is signed into law):

1. Obama shows his long form, or

2. Obama doesn't run in Arizona, or

3. Obama submits his official Hawaiian birth document, the State of Arizona rejects it, Obama challenges in court and losses and is not on the ballot, or

4. Obama submits his official Hawaiian birth document, the State of Arizona rejects it, Obama challenges in court and the law is tossed as unconstitutional because it violates State sovereignty (Hawaiian determination of its own birth record) and the Full Faith & Credit Clause (failure of Arizona to recognize official Hawaiian records) and is on the ballot.

I believe the birthers are 0-72 in various court cases brought against Obama re: eligibility, or at least that's what someone stated a while back. So even if this passes, it will be an interesting court case.

About Lincoln? Soooo?

You said that one of tow possibilities would happen, so i showed you that there were more than that. If you are going to discuss a subject, you should expand you point of view to think outside you preconceived desires.
