The son of a prominent Democrat politician from Memphis has just been given his sentence for breaking into Sarah Palin's e-mail. He is to serve a one year and one day term in the corrections system. I like those 1 year/1 day things because he is not eligible for parole and must serve each day of the sentence. He has apologized to the Palin family and said he would have to live in embarrassment for the rest of his life for what he did.
It hasn't been determined yet whether the corrections department will make him serve time in prison or let him stay at a halfway house. He's got court ordered psychiatric treatment for this depression he has had since childhood (which has just been brought to light today). It's also not yet decided whether he will be prosecuted again for one count of his indictment which was deadlocked by the jury.
