Breaking: Karzai calls US and NATO "Occupying Force"

Good... time to pack up and let the Taliban eat Karzai for lunch.

I'm sick of this mess, and if the Taliban didn't learn their lesson the last time they were in power, we can always pull a "shock and awe" on them from a distance.

Fine, we can leave. Ive been saying we should have left the Second Obama was elected. When you have a leader who doesn't want to carry out the mission, there is no point doing the mission half assed. We are either in it to win or shouldnt be in it at all. Let's bring our troops home.

And while we are at it, let's put together a sane domestic energy policy so we dont have to rely on dictators and thugs for our power. Then we dont have to fight over oil.

Hell Yeah.

We sure wouldn't want to occupy where we ain't wanted now would we??

Lets pack our ditti bag and pull our troops out.

We won't have to spend billions in foreign aide in Afg and we won't lose anymore of our blood and treasure there either.

Shock and Awe and a loaded drone works for me as well.

Wonder how long that toad Karzai will last when the Taliban come roaring back?? He and his brother are drug dealers after all. Last I heard the Taliban was death on drugs and druggies.

Yep. Time to unoccupy Afg.

He must be up for re-election.

Sounds like he's playing to his base and bringing in the fringes.

But he knows, when we leave, he better be at the head of the column, b/c the taliban will.

hmm

What's shiara laws punishment for a traitor?

whatever it is, he won't live that long.

In case you missed it there was vote last week to accelerate the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Most DEMOCRATS voted FOR it.

Most REPUBLICANS voted AGAINST it.

When the Russians left the Mujahedi disemboweled and hung the guy the Russians tried to prop up as the President, the Taliban would probably do way worse to Karzai, this guy owes everyday of his waking existance to the "occupiers".:doubt:

Nothing surprising about that. Republicans love the military industrial complex.

I'd like to know who supports killing people that have not wronged us.

[al-q isn't really there anymore, they are in Pak]

I certainly didn’t expect the vote to be this close. The amendment failed 215-204. Out of 186 Democrats voting, 178 voted to accelerate the withdrawal. And 26 Republicans joined them. This is the closest that any vote has come to repudiating the President’s war strategy in Afghanistan in ten years. A similar measure got just 162 votes previously

If Karzai is smart he has a back up plan to leave the country if US Forces leave and everything falls to shit.

Karzai's "gripe" seems to be the civilian casualties. From the article:

"If after the Afghan government said the aerial bombing of Afghan houses is banned and if it continues, then their presence will change from a war against terrorism to an occupying force.

"And in that case, Afghan history is witness to how the Afghans deal with occupying forces."

Mr Karzai said he would meet international military leaders to tell them what action he would take to prevent further aerial bombings of civilian targets.

He said: "As soon as we meet, probably next Sunday, this will be given to them in clear words, that is what we have in mind."

He has previously made strong condemnations of night raids by commandos pursuing insurgents, only to step down later.

The United Nations has estimated 440 Afghan civilians were killed by Nato or Afghan forces in 2010

And on that note? From May 28th:

Karzai wants Afghans to take control of night raids...

Wonder why?:eusa_whistle:
