Yep, now it's the fault of the store that sold the ammo, for not reading the guy's mind and seeing that he was going to shoot up a theater in the future.

It's a lot like, if some crazy guy got in his car and deliberately ran down your daughter and killed her, you sue Shell Oil Company who sold him the tank of gas two weeks beforehand to power his car. Shell did not check to see what the guy was going to use that gasoline for, so now they are guilty and must be sued.

Only in America.

Never mind that the vast majority of gasoline is used for benign purposes: bringing your child to school, transporting food from farm to store, bringing families on vacations etc. Nope, if one guy uses the gasoline to commit a crime, we now have to restrict all users of gasoline, including millions of law-abiding people who have never done a thing wrong with it and never will.

Likewise, the vast majority of ammo is used for innocent purposes: Shooting pieces of paper at a target range, providing food for families that hunt, deterring criminals from committing their crimes far more than it is used to commit crimes, etc. But that doesn't matter. If one crazy guy used it to shoot up a theater, suddenly the store that sold that guy the ammo, is guilty and must be sued. And we must now restrict all users of ammo, including millions of law-abiding people who have never done a thing wrong with it and never will.

DENVER — The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence will announce Tuesday a lawsuit against online retailers alleged to have sold ammunition and equipment to accused Aurora theater killer James Holmes.

“The lawsuit alleges that the websites negligently supplied Holmes with the arsenal he used to kill 12 people and wound at least 58 others by failing to use any screening mechanism to determine his identity or intent for the products,” the Brady Center said in a media release.

The lawsuit will be filed on behalf of Sandy and Lonnie Phillips, whose daughter Jessica Ghawi was killed in the massacre. The official announcement was set to be made Tuesday in Denver.

Since the Aurora shooter was LEGALLY allowed to buy firearms and ammo BEFORE the shooting this should rightly be tossed out as a frivolous law suit.

There's always some shyster wanting some free cash...
Doesn't matter what shysters want.

There's always some paranoid big-govt advocate who wants to restrict or ban constitutionally-protected things that do far more good than harm, and keep law-abiding people from owning or using them.
