CNN/MSNBC 'expert' panelists have repeatedly referred to BP Pete as a "combat veteran".
You know the military members who are 'forward deployed'.
In Afghanistan he stayed on bases for the most part, venturing out only as an armed escort on an occasional trip.
Here's how he described his 'combat experience' in Iraq: " we were on base, or at least in the Green Zone, almost all the time.”
He never once fired his weapons either in Afghanistan or Iraq.
He was never once 'forward deployed'.

That sounds like a pretty standard experience. Real wars are not like action movies. Most of your time is spent kicking rocks and maintaining equipment on base.
