If the American flag offends anybody in America, then those that are offended should get the fuck out of the country.

It's not just students wearing flag t-shirts or putting flags on their bike around Cinco de Mayo, which is not an official holiday. Home owners associations often ban flags because if offends some people. Same with yellow ribbons. It's out of control and against our freedom of speech. Who are these people who feel offended at the sight of our flag or ribbons supporting our loved ones in the military? I want these people to speak up and explain themselves. As far as Cinco de Mayo, it seems they show pride in their home country and they let us know that it's not America they celebrate. They call themselves citizens because their parents sneaked under the border and dropped anchor, but they resent us. We should stop allowing automatic citizenship unless the parents of the child are here legally. The way it is now, we are inviting those who despise us to come in, take advantage of us and make further demands. Enough is enough!!

Perhaps more people would join in the celebration of Cinco de Mayo if they would show respect for Independence Day and such. There are so many instances of protesters defacing or burning our flag and a lot of hatred toward Americans. Do they expect that we'll sit quietly after all that and allow them to fly their flag higher than ours? If they want to celebrate their home country, fine, but they must remember where they are and that old glory flies the highest at all times. No flag shall replace it.

Some protesters burn our flags on July 4. It amazes me when some posters will always defend those who burn our flags and then question Americans for displaying our flag.

Do the illegals celebrate Independence Day or show respect for us? Would the left even take issue with them if they chose that day to burn our flag or fly theirs? Some students at a school took down the American flag and put the Mexican flag up. They didn't get in trouble, but the kid who lowered theirs and put the American flag back up did get called to the principals office. Many times, the reason given for cowtowing to them is that there will be violence if they don't. Not a good excuse. The ones who get violent should be dealt with instead of forcing others to play along to keep the peace. It sends a message that any threat of violence will ensure that certain groups get their way all the time.

This kid was told by the school to take the American flag off his bike because it offended others. What a load of crap! If anyone is offended by the American flag, they can leave. It's ridiculous how many times people have been told to remove the flag because it offends others. Why would anyone even consider cowtowing to those who dislike America? Fuck 'em. I am so tired of schools, landlords or homeowner's associations prohibiting the flying of flags or yellow ribbons because it offends Muslims, Mexicans or other group. It's un-American and I am glad this community stood up for the boy's rights. We need to send a message that if the American customs bother you, then stay the hell out of here. We should not allow people to come here and force us to make changes to suit them.

First off, your story was from 2010. Secondly, the school didn't order it, they requested it. They had racial issues when some Mexican-Americans brought Mexican flags to school for Cynco d' Mayo.
