Boy, Are Americans Not Overtaxed

Why does the left worry about the US being "relative to other countries"? Who the fuk wants to be taxed to death like Euros who are forced to drive around on skateboards because a pint of gas costs $5.00 and live in apartments the size of bathrooms because the government steals every dime they earn?

They fantasize about mass transit rail, railways ie european country transit also.

Name one country that has been successful in taxing them selves into prosperity.

None.

In fact Russia lowered taxes to a flat 13% rate more than ten years ago and both tax revenue and GDP grew astoundingly.

Seems to me that everyone who wants to compare our taxes to other countries with similar progressive punitive tax codes should look long and hard at the countries who have done just the opposite and are succeeding.

Oh lol sorry. :)
No prob.

So, my point, that I obviously wasn't clear on at all is: If the idiot OP's point is that we need to be taxed more because other countries are, that's like saying we need to wear shit-scented perfume because other countries smell that way.

Maybe we are a great country for several reasons.

But, then again, the OP is a racist, an anti-semite, a bigot, and a moron.

That's just it though, were not taxed less than Other Countries. Liberals like to Compare only Federal Taxes and claim we pay less than Other Nations. They ignore State and Local Taxes when they do this.

America has one of the Most Progressive Tax Systems in the world already, all this talk about the Rich and their "fair share" is BS. All these claims we don't pay enough are BS. The average person that makes enough to actually pay Federal Taxes, Pays over 60% of their income in Taxes once you add up Fed, State and Local.

America has a very good tax system. The problem is not the amount of money being collected, it's that many of the governments on all levels refuse to stop spending these days.

I read the most absurd comment the other day when I was checking out the situation in Spain where the socialist government literally squandered every dime and more and now the new conservative government has to pick up the pieces and go hard core austerity.

Comment was that Spain's problems came from corporate global greed. Not that the socialist goverment drove the economy off the cliff. No. It was corporate greed in the comment section. YIKES!

One thing I've really learned lately is that stupidity on the left is a world wide commodity.

I fell asleep, last night, listening to a guy talking about how GB had tried it and now are 2 years behind trying to make up for the mistake.

True. If your neighbor beats his wife twice a day and you only beat your wife once a day, is your neighbor's standard really the gold standard here? Other nations taxing more really isn't an argument for us to "up" our game.

There is nothing "good" about our monstrosity of a tax code.

How Confusing is the Tax Code? Even the IRS Chief Gets Help - Mary Kate Cary (usnews.com)
The federal tax code, which was 400 pages long in 1913, has swollen to about 70,000. Americans now spend 7.6 billion hours a year grappling with an incomprehensible tangle of deductions, loopholes and arcane reporting requirements. That is the equivalent of 3.8 million skilled workers toiling full-time, year-round, just to handle the paperwork. By this measure, the tax-compliance industry is six times larger than car-making.

Are you serious when you call our tax code "good"

I cheer and throw confetti in the air whenever I see the taxes taken out of my check, and whenever i'm pulled over, and whenever I get audited by the IRS. When I go on vacation, I rent an RV and drive around to a BMV in as many states as I can.

I love me some gubmint!

But he didn't try it did he? All he did was tweak the existing code.

They tried raising rates but it failed at bringing in more revenue.

Why don't you compare our Tax Rates to the Rest of the world?

That is if you really want to make an Educated Assumption about if we are taxed to much or not.

lol

Ok, which countries tax rates would you like to adopt?

Name one country that has been successful in taxing them selves into prosperity.

Name one country that has prospered without taxation.

See, you're not the only one who can create a strawman.

You gotta be kidding me?
highest corporate tax rate in the west 35% tax rate. They didn't change that right? Now some like GE can get around it but that's Obama's 'jobs czar' (smh) but you cares Tw isn't starting a business so its all good :eusa_whistle:

Well it's for certain that 50% of Americans are NOT overtaxed since they pay zero Federal Income TAx,,

The anti-tax revolution which was institutionalized under Reagan is the main reason the US is experiencing a protracted crisis.

The goal was explicitly stated as "Starve the Best". The theory was that if you deprive the federal government of money (to make room for tax cuts to the wealthy), the resulting crisis will dry up the money for government programs and regulation. We are currently in the crisis phase.

However, the proponents of this theory missed something big.

Consumer demand was supported for 70 years with the Keynesian model along with a massive infrastructure of Labor and trade policies which protected the wages of middle class consumers. The Reagan Revolution got rid of all of this in order to make room for giving more money/resources to the wealthy. Even Social Security and Medicare boosted consumer spending, that is, when the parents are not bankrupting their children with medical costs, those same children have more money for consumption.

A right-winger might respond: who cares about consumption? Answer: you do. When people buy things, the capitalist has to innovate and add jobs to soak up that buying power. When people don't have money to buy things, the capitalist is forced to cut jobs.

Reagan convinced us to get rid of all the demand centered policies which out more money in the wallet of middle class pockets. Once we did this, there was an increased need for credit. This is why America underwent a massive expansion of household credit starting in the 80s. Eventually, the credit system blew-up - and now we have zero demand. Consumers simply don't have enough buying power to justify the addition of jobs. Of course the Republicans say we can fix this with tax cuts to the wealthy. This won't work because the problem is not on the supply end. This isn't supply side problem. It's a demand problem.

In the 70s, the problem was inflation - so there was a justification for a supply side solution. That is no longer the case.

And let's not even talk about the danger of the "Self Made Myth". We should take a picture of these people in front of the Hoover Dam. They can all sing the chorus "I built my fortune with my own two hands." Fucking morons. Every nickel they've ever made can be traced to the technological efficiencies created by the modern industrial state - which was paid for by the public.

Profit has never come from one place. It come from a partnership between government and the market players. Commercial aviation - and all the profits made therein - comes straight out of government funding. Boeing depended heavily on the Pentagon budget. The 80s consumer electronics boom came directly from technology developed by the Cold War NASA/Pentagon. Government provides so many industries with direct R&D along with endless subsidies. And don't kid yourself about what the private sector wants. When a business gets big enough it goes straight to Washington to beg for money and regulatory help. Business craves Washington. Big finance would be nothing without FDIC support - which allows them to take risks on the public's nickel. Big Pharma invested trillions into the Bush congress in order to get 100% of Bush's medicare spending. Indeed, Eli Lilly paid every GOP congressmen on the planet for the right to sell drugs at above-market costs to seniors. Congress basically awarded them a monopoly. And now they're fleecing the public dry.

The private sector isn't represented by John Gault. They LOVE government. They crave Big Brother's subsidies and bailouts. They have paid to fix nearly every large market in the USA. And... what do they do with their profits? They invest into think tanks, mass media, Rush Limbaugh et al ... who use their bullhorn to scream "socialist" at anyone who challenges their ownership of the status quo.

God fucking help us. Republicans don't get it. There is no government. Government is owned by an uber-private sector which has emptied every market of competition, including health care and energy. If you challenge their control of Washington and markets, they scream "fascist, socialist, marxist, gay terrorist illegal alien baby killer." We can't fix it until Republican voters learn to question their information sources. They are in bed with Big Government Conservatism. They don't hate government as much as they think they do. To the contrary, they have been used by concentrated wealth to take over government - and they don't see it.

So it was low tax that caused government to entwine itself into the housing market and push for loans that couldn't be paid back?????It was low taxes that increased spending far beyond our GDP? It was low taxes that caused our public unions to demand more in benefits than can ever be paid and it was our low taxes that made the democrats agree to it????/ You keep sniffing that glue.

Like all progressives you dont seem to understand what leave with in your means stands for.
