Well some here follow the pugilists so I little anecdote from
Max Baer former Hw champion in his fight with legendary Joe Louis.

After the first round of the louis fight dempsey (his then trainer) told him he was doing great and he wasn't getting hit. Baer replied"well you better keep an eye on that referee cuz someone in their is beating the hell out of me."

An interesting aside is that Max Baer is pretty well-known as having killed Frankie Campbell in the ring. What is never mentioned is that Baer gave several of his succeeding fight purses to Campbell's family, and he put Campbell's children through college.
