Boxer on MSNBC: Reconciliation has been used 22 times

And you can't read and comprehend the English language.

BTW...My overall rate went down, and I didn't even crack six figures during that period of time.....Foo.

I am not disputing that, I am saying the rich got huge tax cuts that cost this country trillions during a war. Bush used reconciliation, twice for these tax cuts for the rich.

Your rates going down has nothing to do with the HUGE tax cuts he gave the rich. TRILLIONS!

Reconciliation is a process used to pass the budget. Not to pass legislation.

To be honest, Av, I think the terminally stupid will just never understand this. It goes so far over their heads, it is the point equivalent of the space station.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: I love it when an idiot decides to show the board just how dumb they are.

You are really predictable, Gay. I could practically write your posts for you.... 'cept I struggle to dumb down that far for too long.

Question, when bush did it twice with those tax cuts for the rich, was that for budget or legislation? :eusa_liar:

Trillions....really? You really wanted to rape the rich, didn't you zona?

the collective net worth of The Forbes 400, our annual tally of the nation's richest people, has declined, falling $300 billion in the past 12 months from $1.57 trillion to $1.27 trillion.

With the reconcilliation on helathcare, there will be generations that will be affected by this move. I don't recall any other reconcilliation that had this kind of longevity.

I don't like the practice of reconciliation. Things shouldn't be passed via legislative loop holes whether its comprehensive health care reform or the passage or COBRA or tax cuts. That said, the Republicans are ernormous hypocrites (and liars) to be behaving the way they are right now.

Wowie Zowie, I had to thank you for that!!

I remember when Repubs used reconciliation to pass, um, er, Bush's Partial Privatization of Social Security, oh no wait, um they must have used it to reform Fannie and Freddie, amiright? Yeah, that's got to be it!

According to the news this evening, the GOP is now stating that reconciliation is the nuclear option of politics, and it's never been done before.

Only problem is, the REAL nuclear option was when the GOP wanted to get rid of the filibuster, because they didn't want their cabinet/SCOTUS appointments filibustered.

As far as reconciliation? It's been done 20 something times since 1998. 16 of those were by the GOP.

Shit..........one of 'em stated that Congress should go through reconciliation once a session!

But, what else do you expect from the party of no? They sure as shit ain't gonna tell you the truth.

If they use this reconciliation process on something as important as healthcare and which effects ALL Americans to pass this, you will see rioting in the streets. Yes, reconciliation has been used but it has been used on things that do NOT effect ALL Americans. It's been done on budgetary items.

I'm in agreement with you on what your saying Article. But, this is not just some budget process procedure. This will affect the grand children of children being born today. This is the bottom line on what could very well happen. The policiticians will be long dead, and their actions over the next few months will be on the backs of people for generations. On this alone, I don't think it's right. But, that's just me.

Your democratic party which has a SUPER MAJORITY in the HOUSE, a FILIBUSTER PROOF senate for 1 year, a very socialistic PRESIDENT could not pass this bill. They could have DONE IT ALL WITHOUT ONE SINGLE REPUBLICAN VOTE. They were unable to do this, that FACT alone makes it a BAD BILL that would be TERRIBLE FOR THIS COUNTRY. Get a clue.:lol:

We don't need another ENTITLEMENT program, the ones we got are BANKRUPTING US.

They have already been raped and they have been raped soooooooooooooo bad and sooooooooo often that they can't create a measley job out in the private sector.:cuckoo:

To say this is only used for minor budget tweeks is disingenuous. Sure, COBRA has the word budget in it...but think about what it does! It's similar in importance to what's being done here. Lamar Alexander claimed reconciliation has "never been used for anything like this." That brings size and scope into question. Well the size and scope of COBRA, while not exactly the same, is at least in the ballpark of same.

The New Republic, that bastion of liberalism, printed "Truth and Reconciliation: Sidestepping the Filibuster," along with Molly Reynolds, also of Brookings, and Norman Ornstein, a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, which concluded that "Health reform 2009 style would be the most ambitious use of reconciliation but it fits a pattern used over three decades by both parties to avoid the strictures of Senate filibusters."

The ultimate issue is really that Republicans wont agree to even ONE point of commonality. I REALLY wish that the President had turned to Cantor..then to McCain...and asked them to list what major bullet points in the 2400 page document they kept whining about THEY AGREED WITH. Then sat back and listened.

And if they didn't answer the question...he'd cut them off.

Simple as that. Get a damn whiteboard and list what they agree to and what they dont.

I dont have to watch the Maddow clip. She does it for me. I'd spend the kilo-calories typing it out for you...but I think just like eating your vegetables - a little dose of Maddow is good for you.

Come back when you say she doesn't list one. I'll post the minute and second where she does.

Oh and thanks for not addressing the "similar scope" part of my post. I'll chalk that up to agreement.

Translation: I wont watch the clip because submission to Maddow would make me look weak.

Great job there. You've proven you don't care about objective reality...merely posting drivel.
