The Ds will win an empty victory in the house all other things being equal. However it is unlikely that all other things will remain equal.

Comey publicly rolling over on everybody in his book tour and Hillary doing likewise on hers is bad enough. But there is a very long laundry list of things that could go bad for the Ds and a much shorter list of things that can go radically wrong for the Rs.
