Both Democrats and the GOP have missed the obvious

Not sure how both parties could be so blind.

Mitch McConnell has publicly stated that after the new Republican congress sits, there will be no more compromise. The number one issue for them is not guns, jobs, the economy, nuclear weapons, helping America's poor, the unemployed, health care or anything else that is important to the majority of Americans.

THE most important issue is to make President Obama a "one term" president. That's it and nothing else, period! Republicans have said that over and over again. They are being completely honest.

Everything Republicans have done, whether it's filibuster nearly every piece of legislation or refuse to compromise on tax cuts for rich people at the expense of millions of Americans, they have been completely honest about. They were honest during the entire last two years. Waterloo, fail, one term - honest.

The REAL reason why this congress has passed so many things is because the Tea Baggers will be coming into office. Both Republicans and Democrats will be leaving in record numbers. They don't have to follow either party. They only need to follow their conscience.

They are out and they know it. So why not do some good before they leave?

After the first of the year, we will be back to gridlock. Republicans have said, "NO COMPROMISE" and they mean it. It's not a threat, it's a "fact". They will continue to be honest, at least about that.

None of the pundits have pointed this out. Not one.

Of course its going to be "no compromise"..........THATS what election day was about asshole.:fu: America said on election day, "Stop spending our kids lives into oblivion."

This is a dynamic not at all understood by the k00ks on this forum. For them, racking up 2 trillion more of debt is no big deal. ( imagine these morons managing your finances??)

After January 3rd...............its repeal time s0ns.

And in the next 2 years, the k00ks had best pray for 3+% growth rates or conservatives will spend '12 to '16 doing the drink and the two step on a daily basis!!!:funnyface::funnyface:

So the repubs have promised to do exactly what democrats have been doing since Obamas election. This has you upset? You do realize democrats still hold the senate and the veto pen.

Get over it. The government shutdown will benefit all americans, until congress says it wasnt the workers fault, send them checks anyway.

Why has the tea party been silent on the big tax give away if they were so worried about the deficit?

The tea party is a sham

Obviously, like most libs, you only hear what is said, and fail to analzye what is said... I think we all know with liberals that that is no big surprise but by making Obama a one term President we can stop the damage he is doing to this country.

I'm not sure why that is so hard to understand... and I didn't even go to Harvard or Yale!!!!:lol::lol:

Oh also, the reason none of the pundits have said anything is because they want him out also. He is not going far enough left for them.

The thought of a Congress that is unable to pass any more laws is an idea that does not scare most Americans.

My god- what we do without them
A common thought for many in the "dependent class"

Tea Party Discontent Over Republican Tax Cut Compromise, Leadership Positions - ABC News

Will the Republican Leadership Face a Tea Party Rebellion?
Discontent Boiling Over Tax Cuts Bill and House GOP Committee Leadership Positions

By HUMA KHAN

Dec. 20, 2010

The new Congress hasn't been seated yet but signs of
a rift are already beginning to emerge between
Republican leaders and Tea Party groups who were a
driving force propelling many unknown candidates to
victory last month.

From the tax cuts extension bill to the food safety
legislation to Republican selections for key House
committee leadership posts, Tea Party leaders have
expressed outrage at what they perceive is a
continuation of the same old Washington-style
politics.

"In addition to the 'backroom deal' tax compromise,
last week, through their appointments to
chairmanships of the Energy and Commerce and the
Appropriations committees, they [House Republican
leaders] sent a clear message that despite an electoral
victory driven by the Tea Party movement and fueled
by public disgust with incumbents, Washington is
back to business as usual," Tea Party Patriots
founders Jenny Beth Martin and Mark Meckler wrote in
a scathing op-ed in Politico...

The Tea Party is anything but pleased with the tax-compromise between Democrats and Republicans set for a vote in the Senate as early as today. The Tea Party Patriots have launched a "no tax compromise" petition in protest to the deal and are saying it violates several parts of the new Republican "Pledge to America."

From a Tea Party Patriot Press Release:

"This 'backroom deal' ignores those who voted for principled leadership on Election Day," said Mark Meckler, National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots. "Americans demand transparency in the legislative process and policies that reflect fiscal responsibility-not secret negotiations and weak compromise."

"Republicans in Congress only have the leverage to negotiate for tax deals because of the support Americans gave them and principled candidates across the country," said Jenny Beth Martin, National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots. "It is an insult to those who voted them into power to procrastinate on their pledge to honor conservative principles."

How many votes do the 'tea parties' have? How many of those GOP incumbents subscribe to the ideals that most tea party members and empathizers hold dear? The GOP should be much more concerned about the elections coming up in 2012, especially at state and local level.

The obvious thing they have missed is that government has overgrown the size and scope of what it was supposed to be and should be.. the behemoth that our governmental system has become MUST be cut back incredibly and cut back now

Where on here are the tea party people saying anything BUT support for the fucking Bill Annie?

"Why should we put a plan out? Our plan is to stop HIM! (Bush)"

and

"Elections have consequences."

-- Nancy Pelosi.

That was perfectly okay with you then, was it not? What's the problem now?

They have painted themselves into a corner

Under the "class" politics that the left has defined themselves, it is impossible for them to go against Papa Obama.

In their world, one would be a racist. How much of the black vote would the Democrats get if they successfully ran a white person against PapaObama in the primary.

No they are stuck with this loser for the whole ride- no matter how bad of a job he does

Perhaps if they ran another black against him then they could pull it off.

Why has the tea party been silent on the big tax give away if they were so worried about the deficit?

The tea party is a sham

Within a month of Obama's election they were out in the street protesting about the runaway deficit. They wrapped themselves in the Constitution and founding fathers to show their outrage at this loss of liberty

What is the differece this time around?

Fox News did not tell them to go out and protest.
