Senate report: FBI, CIA, intelligence officials caused confusing Benghazi explanations | Fox News

WASHINGTON – The FBI, CIA and other intelligence agencies — but not the White House — made major changes in talking points that led to the Obama administration's confusing explanations of the attack on U.S. diplomatic facilities in Benghazi, Libya, a Senate report concluded Monday.

The Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee report said the White House was only responsible for a minor change. Some Republicans had questioned whether the presidential staff rewrote the talking points for political reasons.

The committee, headed by independent Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut and Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, also said the director of national intelligence has been stonewalling the panel in holding back a promised timeline of the talking point changes.

CIA Director says: "That Cross border Operation CAN'T be ordered by us, it HAD to have come from Higher Up".

And in response, the Good Generals' Girlfriend shows up on the scene!

What a co-winky-dink!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

This is why ALL high ranking Gov't officials are compromised in some way, that way they can be kept in line. Yes, that includes Obama and Hillary.

The real question is what were the immediate actions taken by the White House once they received that top priority message from the situation room.

this is not going to be the big scandal you so prayed for .

Just like F and F it makes you look more and more clownish every day

You'd have been better off letting the whole Benghazi incident fade TDM. When everyone involved rolls over and goes whatever Congress asks, you can be sure something else is there even bigger, someone wants to go away.

The Obama administration failed here. Four Americans were murdered because the Obama administration or Hillary did not ensure their safety. I don't expect anyone to be held responsible.

Let me see if I have the current argument straight. Even though everyone knew it wasn't a spontaneous attack, and that there was no demonstration, and that fact was reported by the fracking government of Libya, it still isn't Obama's fault that he got on TV and claimed that there was a demonstration and that it wasn't terrorism because someone else decided to classify something, which forced him to lie.

Makes sense to me.

The White House tried to cover up the role that al Qaeda played (because O said it was smashed) and the failure of State to beef up security. The MSM let them get away with it. Hillary will also skate on this one.

Meanwhile, what was our guy doing in that consulate anyway?

Maybe this will help TM understand...

There is an organization with world wide reach and influence. The policies, procedures and politics of that organization are dictated by the organization's CEO, who can be guided/influenced by his advisers. Inside that organization are essentially three levels..the bosses, the intermediaries, and the "workers/action officers...the people that do the work. All are worried about keeping their job and increasing their power/job potential/job security.

If the bosses think/want "the bird to be blue", then the intermediaries tell the workers to "make the bird blue". If the workers say "but the bird is white", they are told again to make the bird blue. They salute, "make the bird blue" and everyone is happy and pat each other on the back. This is the day to day normal way business is done.

This organization has many responsibilities, one of which is to protect its assets and people in foreign countries. Its policies are "reduce your profile, do not make waves, lead from behind, be conciliatory, be sensitive to other cultures. Its procedures(ROE if you will) are to be cautious, not do any harm to innocents, double check everything with legal and support the impression that the organization is peacefully thriving and accomplishing its goals. Its politics is to keep every bird blue.

To protect its assets and people, the organization has, let's say, four separate powerful structures, with separate and shared goals...the primary goal to "make the bird blue".

Something goes wrong overseas. The four agencies activate emergency procedures/protocols, take action and monitor events...coordinating with one another but not necessarily seeing everything the others are seeing. The word is sent to the CEO...and his response is to "follow existing procedure". Unsaid but understood is to continue support the overarching policies and remain sensitive to the current political situation.

The outcome is not good. People begin to ask questions, demand answers. The CEO convenes a board of inquiry, allowing him to not comment further...at least not beyond his initial explanation which was immediately rejected by other organizations.

Assessments are offered by the four structures each privy to separate "facts". Each with a longer/shorter involvement in the specific event. Only one organization has the real facts, the key facts, the consequential facts. That organization is told by the bosses to say nothing,. What they know is "classified".

The other organizations are allowed to say what they say...and what they say only clouds the picture and allows the CEO to appear blameless.

And thus, the bird remains blue.

But I thought this was obama's watergate?

So does the partisan right, and they still do – regardless the facts.

Like teleprompters and birth certificates, ‘Benghazi’ will sink into the rightist morass of partisan paranoia, conspiracy, and cover-up, making conservatives look even more pathetic and disparate.

Four Americans were murdered because this administration did not ensure their protection and safety. I understand why the left would want to put this to rest as soon as possible. The left is cowardly and un-American.

thousands were murdered on 911 because Bush and team IGNORED our top terrror experts
