Books

"The Protocols of the Elders of Zion"

A book that you can set your clock by.

It's that timely and accurate concerning todays geopolitical events.

Got it on my list...of course library doesn't carry it so gotta buy it.
There is a big controversy as to whether the book is factual or fiction.

But really it doesn't matter because the events described in it are spot on.

And no, it is not anti semitic.

I find it funny that so many people have such a strong opinion about a book that 99.9% of them have never read.

I have read parts of it and yes it is very spot on. That's what I always ask people who say its a fake...its pretty damn accurate for a fake. They can never explain that to me.

One of my favorite books, which is post-apocalyptic, The Stand by Stephen King.

I loved the Stand. Oh gosh one of my favorite summers ever. I was doomed across the prairies because I was working a couple of bands that were so zonked they were to die for.

Now fun books.

Come on guys. I love murder. Ooooooooooooooooooh I love murder mysteries. Lord give me a slaying. I love spooky death.

Anyone else?

Not kidding. My library is run by Mennos. Steinbach Manitoba.

Rush Limbaugh is considered pornography. :D If you ever wonder why I spend so much time here on these boards, trust me. You and the Amish look like party animals compared to this life out here.

I have an eclectic sense when it comes to books, everything from romance to how to books. Murder mysteries are always fun as are haunted house books, etc. I just love to read, everything I can get my hands on....In fact, I just bought a book at a thrift store on Funeral Prayers...I thought they'd be interesting.

That sounds horrible lol...

The Road, by Cormac McCarthy

hated that book...guess from a woman's perspective it's just hopeless.

To depressing for me and I hated the writing style.

I'm just glad to find out that others still read.

What a great thread. Thanks. My daughter out of the blue called me the other day and told me how much she appreciated me reading her night after night the Lord of the Rings.

How much it meant to her. Apparently other parents didn't. Tanya really meant how much she loved me reading to her. I know I treasured my mom or my dad reading to me. I never knew though how rare this is.

I hope and pray anyone reading this thread will pick up a book tonight and change a life.

My mother did the same to me and I devour books...at any one time I have 15-40 books sitting on my shelf and I have tons that I own that I need to read. I alone have 3 containers full of books I own...my kids are the same way..my daughter is just learning to read so she is devouring books every day...

Looking for suggestions of books you have read or want to read or own that has anything to do with the police state, freedom, liberty, libertarianism, anarchy, revolutions, alternate history, civil war in the US,apocalpytic stuff...end of the country etc...I have read or own all of Ron Paul's books. Loved the ashes series by Johnstone...Militia vs USA series was also good.

Unintended Consequences by John Ross
A State of Disobedience by Tom Kratman
Freehold by Michael Z Williamson

The best political science book ever written is Democracy in America by Alexis de Tocqueville. It should be mandatory reading planet-wide.

A good book which can help laymen understand the global derivatives bubble is Traders, Guns and Money by Satyajit Das.

"God is not Great". Christopher Hitchens.

As a Christian, I enjoyed his take on things.
