'...I have stated what I conceive to be Mr. Roosevelt's major purpose — that is, the centralization of power in the federal government, to the end that the federal government may be able to give the people "a more abundant life." I have stated that I do not believe in this purpose, because, as Mr. Roosevelt himself pointed out a few years ago, centralization of power in the federal government is not, in this country, the way to arrive at "a more abundant life" — unless we wish to change all our basic concepts as to what constitutes freedom and happiness." -- "Hell Bent for Election" by James P Warburg who fell off the FDR wagon early on

I read the "The Forgotten Man" and wanted to punch every one of my lying Progressive history professors in the face.

and none of you scumbag liberals had better misinterpret my wanting to punch EVERY ONE of MY PROFESSORS in the face as VIOLENCE....

What is violent about wanting to punch someone?

It would be violent if one acted on the feeling.

Maybe that's the difference between the and the left. We don't misunderstand shit so much. The left see violence everywhere.... y'all must live in fear. The left feel the need to 'blame' others for things outside their control - somebody has to be responsible. The right feel we are all responsible for our own actions..... note, actions not feelings. (Example: see Juan Williams).

:lol::lol::lol:

The left arent only dismissive of their own violence and the advocacy of the violence in their radical texts but they try to demonize their political opponets by making up nonexistant violence. Michelle Malkin The progressive “climate of hate:” An illustrated primer, 2000-2010

Consider this as a companion to the above quote, and a source of amusement to those with the gift of irony:

"The lessons of history … show conclusively that continued dependence upon relief induces a spiritual and moral disintegration fundamentally destructive to the national fiber. To dole out relief in this way is to administer a narcotic, a subtle destroyer of the human spirit."

These searing words about Depression-era welfare are from Franklin Roosevelt's 1935 State of the Union Address. FDR feared this self-reliant people might come to depend permanently upon government for the necessities of their daily lives. theblogprof: FDR on welfare 1935: "The lessons of history … show conclusively that continued dependence upon relief induces a spiritual and moral disintegration fundamentally destructive to the national fiber. The fact that a person quotes a FarRW nutter like Coulter AND actually think they should be taken seriously never ceases to amaze me.

Any familiar with the works of Georges Sorel, father of syndicalism, marxist-socialist, knows of the essential characteristic of leftist philosophy: violence.

"In his best-known work, Reflections on Violence (1908, tr. 1912), which became the basic text of syndicalism, Sorel expounded his theory of "violence" as the creative power of the proletariat that could overcome "force," the coercive economic power of the bourgeoisie. He supported belief in myths about future social developments, arguing that such belief promoted social progress."

FarRW nutter types amaze me. They get all up in alms about people pointing out their pundits and leaders own vicious, malicious words and lies. All Media Matters does is point out the nonsense and lies on the Right. If you are mad at the truth...then I don't know how I can help you.

A neg rep from you??

You insignificant gnat.

Once again a participant of a public message board, supposedly ready to debate in public, has resorted to the kind of response which encapsulates all of his ability: spanked in public, the response is not a cogent rebuttal....but a neg rep.

How pathetic, but emblematic of the left.

BTW, I have never given anyone a neg rep simply because I am articulate enough to present my point of view.

You? Not so much.

The The Federalist Papers weren't a book. They were a series of articles written by 3 founders (Hamilton, Madison, and Jay), that were meant to get the public behind the formation of the constitution. For somebody who acts as if they're so intelligent on the founding fathers-I find it laughable that you didn't know this VERY basic principle.

James, there have been several books by that title, and written as printed in 'The Independent Journal," and I've read one printed in more current language by the same title.

Your absolutly right. I should subscribe to the The Independent Journal and The New York Packet so I can get them first hand huh? Oh, and by the way, a compilation of all the papers has been around FOR A VERY LONG TIME known as "The Federalist" later known as "The Federalist Papers". What? You want us to purchase them in their origional news papers individually? Or did you know that before you put your foot in your mouth these books had links that were taken down by the moderators. Your above statement shows nothing but willful ignorance and oppertunism to pretend that no one knows that the federalist paper(((S))) were a series of articles written by Jay, Madison, and Hamilton, in the advocasy of the constitution. YOU CANT FIND THEM IN ANY FORM TODAY OTHER THAN BOOK FORM! Unless, of course, you want to pay thousands, perhaps millions, of dollars trying to collect the origional prints in their publications. What a stupid reply on your part!

I'm well aware of this, but you didn't make this clear in your post. You said The Federalist Papers were a book. I merely pointed out they weren't. For someone who nitpicks, and plays devil's advocate as much as you do (saying the states have the rights to determine who can vote or not, outside of criminals for example), you sure can't handle a little in response can ya? Get over yourself already.
:lol::lol::lol::lol:

edit: I mean when you start a thread called "Books The Left Doesen't Want You To Read", you don't think you set yourself up as a target? Relax brainiac, I realize we can't all be as smart and wise as the almighty Publius1787.

You knew absolutly what I was talking about. What other source are you going to get the federalist papers in other than the internet? Could it be one of the many books called "The Federalist Papers"? Some things are so evident that there need not be a reason to specify. You just proved to me that common since isnt a common virtue.

Actually, "the Left" wants people to read as many books as possible. You obviously don't know anyone on the left. Do you only read books from which you can interpret your strict partisan hackery, or do you also read books that you think go against your ideology?

Actually...I am the left. And I DON'T want them to read those books.

Because I want them to read my new cookbook:

I've been wondering who this "The left" person is. So it's YOU!

That explains a lot. :lol:

It's really a difficult job to make sure that all of the media (except for Fox) reflects my point of view AND, at the same time, indoctrinating all of America's children with my philosophy.

It's why my post count is down.
