Pete Rose has been banned for 30 years because he bet on baseball. Someone who bets on baseball may be tempted to cheat

I don't know either, but gambling destroys families. Steroids take a toll on the body.

A commissioner issued the 30 years, didn't he? I think the steroids were more of a court matter, though I could be wrong. All that kind of stuff goes into the aesthetics of sports, sportsmanship, human health, and in the case of gambling mental and sociological issues.
