Boko Haram continues to slaughter Nigerians

Boko Harum is in the north, and the oil is in the south. The corrupt Nigerian government is mainly interested in skimming oil money. Boko Harum doesn't interfere with that, so the government is not overly concerned. The Nigerian military has commanders who skim the funding and leave the troops with nothing, so there isn't much a military to respond with.

So, there's nothing we can do. Intervening would create a Somalia-type situation, where Americans would be seen as invaders, no matter what our good intentions were.
