Boeneromics - DEREGULATE, CUT TAXES

For those that want deregulation to spur growth. I'd like to know which regulations, specifically, you would like to see cut and what you expect that impact to be.

CPSIA would be a good start. I expect to see more people making children's toys and clothing as a result.

Now that I proved I have an answer to your challenge do you want to take up mine? Or will you leave it for the OP not to answer?

Much of the Tea Party is middle class, but the Tea Party is nowhere near a relevant minority much less a majority of Main Stream America. Stable minded TPers want SS, they want Medicare, and they want Medicaid, as long as it is reformed sensibly. The baby boomer TPers will vote against anyone who messes with their SS and medicare, anybody.

ummm...deregulate frees up entrepreneurs to create jobs...and low taxes allows people to spend more of their money on what they want. I dont see the problem.

We have a $14 trillion debt hanging over our heads and you don't see a problem?

So you want to do away with the legislation that cuts down the amount of lead in childrens toys? That's where you think we can start to get America back on the right track? :eusa_eh:

Based upon your posts, I'm guessing disappointment is a standard part of your life.

The Tea Party came into existance because AVERAGE American folks saw that the United States Government was ramming through legislation that 1) No one had read (i.e., Nancy Pelosi telling us we'll read it AFTER it passes); 2) Putting 1/6th of the present economy under government control; 3) Ignoring the fact that of the fictitious 50 Million people without healthcare, over half of them CHOOSE not to have it and the others have access to Medicaid; and 4) Ignoring the fact that this country is a capatalistic system and trying to move us toward a European socialistic economy that NO ONE WANTED!

You don't have to take the example of Ronald Reagan to know that cutting taxes and reducing regulations spurs economic growth. Look at Bill Clinton. He took the Republican agenda and made it his own and announced from the well of the House of Representatives that "the era of big government is over!" We all know that his revamping of Welfare saved billions and forced those off of the government dole to work for the money they got. The result of his programs that the Republicans in Congress supported? Another boom.

We got into trouble when Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, under the watchful eye of Barney Frank, began loaning money to those who didn't even have a down payment and had no way to pay those loans back. It got worse when we gave Washington 800 billion dollars for those "shovel ready" infrastructure programs that went no where, produced nothing, and made the deficit much worse.

You want to fix this freakin mess? Get back to the core American values. A capatalistic system that REWARDS those who invest and who risk their capital. Make it easier for them to do so. Remember that government is NOT YOUR FRIEND. You give it a dollar and it steals two more from your billfold when you're not looking. It's like a bad relative that won't leave and won't stay out of the refrigerator. You've got to show it the door and only talk to it at family reunions.

Hmm, last I recall we deregulated and cut taxes under Reagan in the early 1980s. The result was the longest peace time expansion since WW2.
Yeah, I'm down with that.

I recall what happened when we increased taxes and regulation through the 1970s. We got Jimmy Carter and the Malaise speech. Looks like more of the same today.

And the debt skyrocketed and the consumer credit bubble inflated. But it would be different this time because why?

BEcause the GOP will be in control of Congress, rather than the Democrats, as under Reagan. Debt skyrocketed because Reagan had to contend with a Democratic Congress that never saw an entitlement they could vote against.

The question I have though.................

Will the gop act like they did with GW? Spending full speed ahead. I still hold doubts they have learned the lesson.
