Instead, he said changes to former President Barack Obama’s signature legislative achievement would likely be relatively modest.

“[Congressional Republicans are] going to fix Obamacare – I shouldn’t call it repeal-and-replace, because it’s not going to happen,” he said.

“I started laughing,” he said. “Republicans never ever agree on health care.”

“Most of the framework of the Affordable Care Act … that’s going to be there,” Boehner concluded.

No no Tan Man. Get rid of the mandate, and find the money elsewhere. Don't make insurance companies cover people with pre-existing, but instead just put them on medicare ... with supplemental insurance policies funding the co-pays like oldsters buy.

When people who chose not to buy insurance get sick, cover them, but make them wait a full calendar year before coverage goes into effect.

And call it repealed and replaced.

The ACA is imploding by itself. The costs are going up every year. Hell costs in Arizona went up by 150%. Its unsustainable.

They will replace it but it will take time because so many are on it now. There is no quick fix for that POS the ACA.

pretty much. Mandatory coverage is not politically popular. BUT over ten years ONLY about 70 billion comes from workers earning less than 120K a year. I think it's taking in a lot less than even that because the penalties are so low.

Insurors are losing money because they must cover pre existing conditions, and because Roberts allowed states to not cover Everyone with Medicaid expansion, insurors/providers are still not being reimbursed for all coverage. The law was premised on insurors making up costs for preexisting folks by getting paid to cover well folks. And I suspect that costs were higher than expected, so the law didn't raise enough revenue to truly "pay for itself," as it was advertised.
