"Hey, John......what's NEW??!!!"

a trillion over TEN YEARS? I really can't believe the Republicans produced a document bragging about saving 100B per year.
OTOH, we have democratics screeching that the wimpy Bush tax cuts, which ended up "costing" less than that over their 10-year phase in period, blew a gaping hole in the federal budget.

Y'all don't get it both ways, perfesser.
The Bush tax cuts cost more than that, stoodent.

Yes, wimpy....They ended up being in he range of 1% of GDP over their effective period.

Your all-too-typical and predictable class envy pimping is irrelevant.

1% of GDP? Interesting choice of costs.

Do you know what the total future fiscal gap for the SS and Medicare Trust funds is?
1% of GDP.

Ya see, it's a wimpy little problem to fix. Just end the Bush tax cuts and it's fixed (by your figures, at least).

In actual reality, they didn't "cost" anything...The only thing that costs anything is spending money.

Still, as I recall, they were projected to be <1% of total GDP over the effective period, when they were enacted.

If the prattling pinheads in the District of Criminals can't find a paltry 1% of their binge spending to offset the supposed "costs" of such meager tax cuts, then they have zero room to go around blaming the opposing party for "blowing holes in the budget".

The problems with the bankrupt OASI "trust fund" is another problem with spending, not failure to shake down the peasants enough.

they cost the federal government money, money that was instead borrowed to pay for Part D, stupid wars and increased farm subsidies.

Who cares what the projected costs were?

Well, they could solve both those problems by...Not enacting poorly- constructed tax cuts at the same time they decide to pass a 1.2T unfunded mandate, fight two needless wars and increase spending at a rate not seen since LBJ during an economic expansion.
