Bob Sheppard dies at 99

I don't know anything about Mr. Sheppard and this reply has nothing to do with him, but I hope it is 99 years before the Yanks win another pennant and twice as long before the Cowboys win another Super Bowl.

:lol::lol::lol:

RIP Mr. Sheppard

One thing I am wondering about is how they will handle announcing Jeter. Up until this point it was a recording of sheppard announcing Jeter, with all the other players being announced by the new guy.

While he was till alive and kicking it was a nice tribute, but now that hes passed on, I would think it would seem a bit creepy.

I haven't been able to bring myself to go to the new Stadium. I can't explain it, I'm a Yankee fans since Tom Tresh and Clete Boyer, I lost count of how many times I've been to the Stadium in the past 40+ years.

And now this.

Even at the old Stadium it was weird when Shep was absent. Couldn't they just record his voice and play "The Captain...Derek Jeter" With computer technology they could synthesis him calling new player names.
