So, Good old Bob Beckle today was trying to Marginalize the Tea Party. He sited a poll that says only 22% of Americans identify with the Tea Party. So they should not be "running" the Republican Party.

Funny thing is he never mentioned that that is 2% more than the Percentage of Americans that identify as Liberals, yet he is ok with Liberals Running the Democrat Party.

    LOL

As of 2008, in my home county in NH, each of the the two major parties register about 30% of the voters. So having 22% identify with the Tea Party after only one year of activism should bode very well for the Tea Party and the candidates who woo their support.

22% of the voting public is a huge political force.

Why, that number is nearly as large as the number of stoners in this nation.

And we all know how much poltical power the stoners wield, right?

The TP will be marginalized by the GOP the moment it moves too far off the reservation.

Its funds will dry up, its organizers will follow the money, and it will be another interesting populist historical footnote in US history.

The Insiders have a long history of gaining control over populist political movements.

Liberals are not the problem - Progressives are the problem.

and those people will go back to not voting like they did for decades before Reagan started courting them to win his election.

Politics is just to hard for people who dont want to know the truth

Interesting. The die hard Bush supporters were also 22% of the country.

How is it that a minority is able to constantly control the Republicans and push the Republicans into hurting our country?

Maybe 22% call themselves TEA PARTY but probably another 50% agree with their ideas and values. Why do you think the TEA PARTY has so much power? It's because most of the people in this country are tired of both the dems and repubs and the politics as usual in Washington. The TEA PARTY represents all the people in this country that want to take the country back from the government that has become too large and overbearing. When the unions call for the TEA PARTY to be taken out they are about to find out most of their members also identify with the TEA PARTY. Just who do these unions think we are? We are all the Americans, both union and non-union that are tired of the government becoming too involved in our daily lives. I'm a union member, 40yrs in the butchers union( if I wanted the job I had to join the union), and I am a TEA PARTY supporter. Unions are fine until they get involved in our politics.

Well let's see. If it's 22% now it stands to reason it was less than that at the time of the 2010 elections, when the dimocrats got their ever lovin' asses thoroughly kicked. So whatever the number might have been back then it wasn't good news for the lefties.
