GOP makes gains in Wisconsin

Blue Wisconsin may be flashing red.

Republican Senate hopeful Tommy Thompson holds a double digit lead over his Democratic opponent Rep. Tammy Baldwin, according to a poll released Friday, the day after polls found Romney edging the president in his running mate’s home state.

A Rasmussen poll released Friday found former Wisconsin Gov. Thompson leading Baldwin 54 percent to 43 percent.

That’s a big jump for Thompson in the days following his primary win and the choice of Congressman Paul Ryan as the Republican vice presidential nominee. A Marquette University Law School poll conducted last week found him leading, but by a much tighter, 48-to-43 percent margin. A CBS/New York Times/Quinnipiac poll last week had the two tied at 47 percent.

Rasmussen found a similar rightward swing in a presidential poll in the Badger State conducted Wednesday. In their poll, Romney led 48-47 over President Obama. But a CNN/Opinion Research poll conducted Monday and Tuesday following the announcement of Ryan as the vice presidential choice found Obama with a 4-point lead in the state. Earlier polls have found Obama leading in the state, which he won in 2008.

The race to fill retiring Democratic Sen. Herb Kohl’s seat is expected to be one of the most hotly contested of the cycle. It is also one of the races that will determine which party controls the Senate.

I predict the usual suspects are going to drop a meaningless poll on this thread momentarily.

Oops, not one person in this thread will to declare that Rasmussen is reliable.

That prompts the question, why are you posting and cheering polls you don't even trust?

lol

Man, the closer we get to Election Day, the dumber you get. You know, they prescribe something for that. It's called a full dose of STFU!

Who in this thread believes the Rasmussen poll is RELIABLE?

Omg another time to put a beatdown on you. You believe the nbc poll even when the head of nbc political news said it was a sham, so stop posting on this, you have no credibility

I simply asked who here thinks Rasmussen is reliable, and so far not one person has said so.

All you have to do is answer the question.

Is Rasmussen a reliable poll?

When obama loses, liberals will be shaking their heads saying "All the polls had him ahead!"

Went through that with Jimmy Carter loss already.

Rasmussen is reliable. There.

Ah look, one conservative man with the normal attributes of a man.

Then you will have to acknowledge that by your own standards, the 4 point swing to Obama in the time since Ryan was chosen is a reliable indicator as well,

for the time being?

Given that, maybe you can explain why thread after thread from your fellow 'nuts keep making claims about the polls moving in Romney's direction because of Ryan.

Is it a reasonable conclusion to dismiss those people as liars?

Paul Ryan wants to outlaw abortion in the case of rape or incest.

Who arrests the rape victim, Paul?

First of all, I'm not a conservative, so you'll have to find someone else to hitch your stereotype to.

Furthermore, I have made no such claim that Romney's selection of Ryan has done anything for him in either direction because quite frankly, I have no idea and really don't care because I'm not voting for Mitt Romney. I'm simply answering your question that yes, I believe Rasmussen is a reliable pollster.
