Have the lefties finally consumed the Democrat Party and the so-called moderates are getting the boot? Sheez... and all this while Obama fakes to the middle...

After providing a voice to moderate Democrats for more than 25 years, the Democratic Leadership Council is closing. Former Democratic National Committee Chair Howard Dean addresses fears that the loss of the D.L.C. could be a blow to moderates in the Democratic Party.

Granted...the Blue Dogs are still dreamers...

WASHINGTON — The diminished Blue Dogs are hoping to get their Capitol Hill bite back.

Three months after the November election that slashed their numbers, and one month after losing a symbolic challenge to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, members of the moderate Democratic coalition insist they are more relevant than ever.

"We still believe moderation is important, and we have to move toward that course," Rep. Dennis Cardoza, D-Merced, said Monday. "We're looking to make sure that people know that there are moderates in Congress."

Following a day-long New York City retreat, in which they hatched strategies and were addressed by former President Bill Clinton, the House Blue Dogs vowed to focus on issues like regulatory reform and deficit control. Where possible, they said, they'll work with politically amenable House Republicans.

:eusa_think: Perhaps the Blue Dogs should join the ranks of the Tea Party and add to the mellowing of their red-neck social agenda.

The tension between the leaning-left Dems and the leaning-right Dems has been part of that party as long as I can remember.

Basically the right leaning Dems control the party.

Always have and really, unless we change the campign finace dynamics, they always will.

That basically why we have TWO republican parties: the socially conservative, but corporate friendly Republican Party (the GOP); and the socially liberal but also corporate friendly republican Party (The DNC)

Yep, socialists have taken over. They got rid of the conservative dems and now the last two years have taken over the moderates. Why do you think so many are leaving the party and becoming independents?
And then have the nerve to go on talk shows and news and say they are very diversified, yea, only different views of only socialists.

That is probably the most ridiculous thing I have heard in a while... The left wing of the DEM party has controlled that party for a while now

When you are far to the left you think the right runs everything. pfft Some people still think the RNC is conservative.

The dems have been pushing left for decades, and the mods are just trying to hold on. But the more they hold on the more support they lose in the media. And once dems have lost the media, they are no longer sure how to run for office. They have had the media in thier back pocket for so long, to lose that is to lose re-election.

Most give up and go left, some commit suicide and leave the party.

It doesn't matter, once they are called a blue-dog, it's over unless they get lucky and a Rep and only a rep, runs against them.
