Bloomberg is preparing a massive media campaign against Bernie Sanders, whose commanding Nevada caucus victory has also drawn the attention of other top Democratic candidates -- and rankled establishment Democrats who believe that the far-left, self-avowed "democratic socialist" could alienate moderates and cost the party the White House.

CNBC first reported Bloomberg's new approach, which will employ opposition research, surrogates, and advertisements across multiple platforms. The volley began on Monday, as the Bloomberg campaign unveiled a video accusing Sanders of being weak on gun control -- an issue that Bloomberg has previously sought to corner. The former New York City mayor already has spent over half a billion dollars in campaign advertising, reports said.

The all-out blitz comes as Sanders' partial defense of Fidel Castro's brutal Cuban Revolution in an interview televised this weekend only underscored his possible vulnerabilities among Democratic moderates heading into Saturday's South Carolina primary and the 14 critical Super Tuesday contests three days later.

Additionally, Bloomberg’s campaign on Monday delayed a scheduled CNN town hall so that he can spend more time preparing for Tuesday’s debate. He was scheduled to appear on CNN on Monday, but he'll now join the network for the live question-and-answer program on Wednesday.

A spokeswoman for Bloomberg called the debate “crucial” and said, “The country can’t afford to let Bernie Sanders skate by another debate without a focus on his extreme record.” Bloomberg had his debate debut last week and his performance was widely deemed rocky and underwhelming for a candidate who has sought to give off the air of a front-runner.

The Bloomberg campaign didn't immediately respond to Fox News' request for comment.

Going for the throat:....and you thought going after Kavanaugh in the 70's was a small stretch...how about PORNO BERNIE from 1972....I had almost forgotten about one of the staples of the communist left....pornography!

Going for the throat?.....Love all the ammo the left is giving us as they can't make up their minds...what little of it they still possess!

Oh. Newest poll out tonight.....scalp hunt preparing at stage left!!!

Sanders (I-Vt.) won Saturday's Nevada caucuses decisively, after winning the New Hampshire primary and essentially tying former Mayor Pete Buttigieg for first in Iowa. So Sanders is the Democratic frontrunner, and he also leads nationally in a new CBS News/YouGov poll released Sunday, drawing the support of 28 percent of Democratic primary voters.

But Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) jumped to second place in the poll, at 19 percent followed by former Vice President Joe Biden (17 percent), former Mayor Mike Bloomberg (13 percent), and Buttigieg (10 percent).

Warren came in fourth place in the Nevada caucuses, but a large majority of Nevada Democrats cast their early ballots before Wednesday night's Democratic presidential debate, and half the respondents in the CBS poll — taken Feb. 20-22, between the debate and the caucuses — were most impressed with Warren's performance.

Come on Doomberg. I know you can spend another half a billion to vanquish the 3 front runners!.....Just imagine the TRULY GOOD he could have accomplished with just the half a BILLION he has spent so far.....people might have started to call him SAINT MICHAEL, instead of a narcissist and truly a sick little man!!!!!!!!!

Bloomberg and his ad campaign reminds me of 'The Wizard Of Oz'. There is this illusion of a grand and powerful wizard projected on the screen but you pull back the curtain and there's this goofy old dude turning the cranks.

It seems as if there are "goofy old dudes" pulling all the cranks behind all the curtains, Congress and the White House included.

Good, let them eat themselves.

I do have to correct one thing.

There are NO MODERATES running for the Democratic nomination.

What is needed is a leader who can unify the people, demonstrate a clear vision of where to go for the good of us all, and isn't moderate in working to obtain that goal.
Imagine what the country would be like if even 70% were really shoulder to shoulder!

Sounds like Germany in the late 30's! Not being judgmental, Germany actually became amazingly successful during that time. But America was designed so that the legal citizens were free to lead themselves and do what was good for them! Government was not looked to as a "leader" but an entity to make sure American citizens were safe to do as they pleased.
