On another thread about socialism, people were trying to differentiate between "social justice" and charitable giving. According to a book by Albert Brooks and a great editorial by George Will, Republicans give far more to charity. It only makes sense that they would donate more blood as well. If I can figure out how to do this poll thingy, maybe we can generalize about which party is saving more lives (from a medical standpoint). I am O neg and give twice a year. So does my son.

Be honest!

Every cell in my body was screaming to check this one: No can do - Dem with cooties (AIDS, sex worker, African, etc)

yes I did.

P.S thanx to Republicans more charity will be needed so keep on helping out you big hearted basterds!

I have been a donor for more than two decades, but it has nothing to do with my political affiliations and everything to do with being a human being.

I picked other blood donor. 2 times a year here.

I give twice a year as well, but I must say I am getting annoyed with the Red Cross who calls my house every 30 days. Our O neg blood supply is at less that a half day right now (whatever that means) so I understand son and I are golden. But I don't feel I should have to go more.

And the reason I'd like to see if Reps give more is because of the ongoing emotional debate about health care. I'd like to see if the bleeding heart libs on this board really want to save lives, or are just blowing hot air. Do as I say...

Picked other/blood donor. I used to give blood more often than I do now, because my place of employment has blood drives quite often throughout the year. The last time I gave blood it made me really sick though (heart racing, shakes, feeling queezy) and I could barely function at work. Now, I only give blood when I have free time and can rest up afterward at home.
