Blame only works for so long

HA! yea... you "Blame Clinton" conservatives sure aren't spreading the irony thick.. nope..

Did any of you guys read the article?

This is not like Hannity ranting and raving about the "Obama recession", but a look at how the issue of blaming oneside or another is only fanning political fever during an election off year.

Any thinking man knows who is to blame for the Recession. It is Bush. He created and churned our economic prospects into the ECONOMIC COLLAPSE of 2008! Obama's has to do two things.

1 keep peoples confidence up
2 implant policies that will turn the economy, budgets and deficits be damned.

Any really thinking man knows that the seeds for the current economic and monetary disaster were sewn faaaaaaar before Shrubbie took office.

Thanks for proving the premise of the OP, though.

1) Not gonna happen, since pimping for more gubmint command and contrl over every level of society means that he has to keep convincing as many people as possible how much everything sucks.

2) Yeah....More of what got us into this mess is going to cure it!!
What's next...tossing vestal virgins into volcanoes??

Nonsense, the Bush Administration bears some responsibility for the current economic crisis but certainly not the lions share ....

Was it the Bush Administration that implemented the CRA? pushing lenders to loan to less than creditworthy individuals...
Was it the Bush Administration that created Fannie & Freddie? facilitating a system where lenders could offload risk onto MBS investors...
Was it the Bush Administration that kept interest rates artificially low, flooding the economy with cheap money and diverting capital away from treasuries and into MBS and derivatives?

This economic crisis is primarily the fault of Washington Central Planners and their failed ideas and has it's roots stretching back long before President Bush ever took office, THEY (republicans and democrats) set up the system, THEY failed to see the unintended consequences of their actions and when the shit hit the fan THEY looked for every scape goat they could find to blame it on because of course it's never the fault of the central planners, it's always the fault of those that had said plans forced upon them .. either that or it must be free market capitalism that's to blame .. the really sad part about it is that Americans buy into this blame fixing BS and re-elect the same idiots that caused the mess over and over and over, not to mention buy into attempting to fix it with more of the poison (government intervention) that caused it in the first place.

Let's be honest here. When did the markets collapse? When did we start losing jobs like crazy?

When it became apparent Obama was going to be President.

Could the economic levels from the Bush administration had been sustained long term? Probably not. But do you honestly think its just a coincidence that the financial markets started collapsing when the American people learned what Obama's economic plans were and it was obvious that he was going to be President?

However, I think McCain would likely have brought us to the same point. And Bush's spending certainly didnt help.

This is still Obama's economy. He is the one who got and insane amount of spending for his economic stimulus passed in the first months of the administration. Once the Presidents policies have an opportunity to take affect, then the economy is his.

The 2001 recession began prior to any policies being implemented by the Bush administration and recovered soon afterward despite the 9/11 attacks. Not to mention transfer of power was delayed by Al Gore's attempts to overthrow the vote in Florida.

Excuse me, but didn't Obama say he was going to "look to the future", only to forget that he said that?

This was written by a Huffington Post columnist back in October.

Here's a suggestion, since there's so much blame energy going on right now in the country and I really do believe change starts with each one of us. Tomorrow, for just 24 hours, don't blame the President, the government, your boss, your broker, yourself, the cab driver, your partner or anyone else for what's going on. Notice how much time and energy in your day is consumed with being focused on blame. Regardless of whether you're justified or not, blame never achieves anything. We really need people to contribute more hope than fear right now.

Ariane de Bonvoisin: The 24-Hour No Blame Challenge

Doesn't that apply now as well? And doesn't it apply to Obama?

It's all Bill Clinton's fault. Those things that aren't Bill Clintons fault are Ted Kennedy's fault.

Oh yeah, some of it is Franklin Roosevelt's fault.

Wait a minute, since moving to Mississippi, I've learned that a lot of it is honest Abe's fault.

That darn George Washington. I'm pretty sure a lot of it is his fault.
