Blackwater founder moves to Abu Dhabi

Why was I drafted in 1972 and for what reason and why were we being sent to Nam?

Between the years 1941 and 1945 the United States was at war with two powerful nations which had attempted to occupy or destroy us. No such circumstances necessitated the "conflict" in Korea, which was officially known as a "police action" but was often referred to as the Korean "war."

You were drafted in 1972 because some politicians like to flex their muscles by putting people like you at risk and some of them like to accommodate their sponsors in the Military Industrial Complex. Although you were inducted into war-like conditions, and while the Vietnam "conflict" was often referred to as a war, your country was not at war, which accounts for the outrage expressed by so many protesters here at home -- including me.

There was absolutely no good reason for you or any of your comrades in arms to endure the miseries of armed conflict when the United States was under no threat. While you were told you were serving your country the reality is you were serving its government with no legitimate cause, a circumstance which applies to those troopers currently serving in the Middle East.
